Right, first off I'd like to appologise for my previous rant about the P1.. The only real complaints I had or have are:

- vague delivery date
- delay in rear spoiler
- poor fit of the new spoiler (it didnt fit flush to the STi V bottom bit, not the dealers fault).
- front skirt & stone chips (including the break vents, now orange rather than black!)..

Now, I appreciate this is mainly Subaru UK issues, as most of the above can be applied to any scoob..

But, as was kindly pointed out by some people at the car audio shop I use, my (second) replacement rear spoiler appears to be a different colour to rest of the car!..

I will raise it with my dealer later today, but has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers, Alex

PS. I still grin for a good half hour after driving into work, the car is great apart from these niggles.....

Question

Was the paint coming off the original P1 spoilers or something Mr Evil?

Alrightly..

Car was delivered with STi V spoiler..
About 7 weeks or so later, I got confirmation of my P1 spoiler being available..
Got that fitted on Monday (this week)morning..
Got the same spoiler removed Tuesday morning due to it not fitting properly (mis-aligned with lower part).
Fortunately another spoiler was available, and fitted, looked a good fit..
Thursday morning realised it did not match colour wise, to the rest of the car.
Have been told today, no problem, the paint job on the spoiler is warrantied for 1 year! (where as the rest of the car is 6!?), and that it can be resprayed under warranty..
This dictates the car is going to be off the road for a (nother) day.

NOT HAPPY

On the plus side, they can repaint the brake vents at the same time.

rgds, Alex

Question

I hope none of you have noticed because hopefully your dealer will have sorted it before you get the car but with 98% of all new imprezas when they come from Japan the entire boot lid is never exactly centered, ita always a bit to one side and the other thing is in all Imprezas the passenger glove box sort of sags to one side, usually the right, this also occurs on nearly all foresters as well but the above can easily be fixed. As your wing Mr Evil, its a bit messy having to go taking off the new wing again. Is the P1 spoiler held on by adhesive?

Kevin2000,

Thats Dr, I didnt spend 7 years at evil medical school to be called Mr!

Yup there is some black gunk they use, which looks nice from a distance (only very slightly noticable from a distance), but looks bl**dy awful close up...

At least I dont have to pay for oil filter & sump plug on my 7500 service in two weeks time.. err-hemmm..

Thumbs up

Mr Evil we use the same black gunk to fit Impreza spoilers over here too. Hope you arent there to see them taking off your spoiler cause believe me its not for the faint hearted.
