Default 50,000 Mile Service

My 2002 STi is in need of the above soon! Whats the damage(£) likely to be from a) A main Dealer, and b) A specialist? Does the cambelt get changed at this service?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Don't know the cost of a 50k service, but the cambelt should be done at the 40k service. Check your owners manual at the back, where it has the 'service data' and that should confirm when the cambelt gets replaced, I'm sure it's 40k though.

On both my 04 wrx and my 06 sti the cam belt is changed every 60 months or 50k whichever comes first.

Hi mate, mines due soon as well. Cambelt is DEFINATELY done at the 50k service. Around here (Midlands) main dealers and specialists are about the same £350 ish.

Hope this helps

Wolfie.

go to scoobyclinic for a day out, they will do the job properly and although they won't be the cheapest you will know it has been done properly.
Who is your specialist up there???

Yeah newage cambelt is 50k.
I had mine done at RCMS. Was an expensive service for me as i needed a new hydraulic tensioner, and whilst in there we changed an idler roller for a different type so it is better.

Are Scoobyclinic in Yorkshire? The nearest reputable specialist to me is AWD Motorsport in Perth.
