Default bump in the night, bump in the day, bump bump bloody bump

Hi, my car 03 sti bumps all over the place. It feels as if something in the rear axle is fudged. I think i have heard somewhere that there is a comman manufacturers fault with something to do with the rear axle. Is this true and if so what is it. My passengers are begining to complain!

If it is manufacturers common fualt, do they repair / replace it even if its out of warranty? If not what sort of dosh am i looking at?

Check the exhaust is not knocking against the bodywork. A recent check on my prodrive showed it was catching in three places - downpipe against the engine, centre section against the body, rear silencer brackets against the body.

I was given a copy of the memo outlining a problem with 02-03 STI models. It will be replaced by Subaru but you need proof. Subaru try and deny knowledge of it. I'll try and dig it out.

Rear struts and top mounts, a known problem. Subaru should change without a problem. Just had mine done and it's now quiet.
