Direct Line - tracker needed?
#1
Hi all
Anyone insured their scoob recently with Direct Line? Did they insist on you having a tracker fitted? I got a surprisingly good quote out of them (341 upgrade from the Cav for 7 months), but they said without a tracker they wouldn't insure it.
Presumably a tracker will cost a bleedin' fortune? And by all accounts they are not entirely worth the effort and cash.

Not direct line but their sister company ( Privilege ).
Check them out for a quote, even with them being sister companies Privilege where quite a bit cheaper than direct line.
I HAD to have a TRACKER to get my RB5 insured last May and they insisted that it was still there when I renewed in January.
Tracker cost me about £400-£500.
They managed, however , to offer me a renewal with the price calculated without a tracker and it was not until I questioned them as to why there had been a £200 increase that they realised the error of their ways and reduced it back down.
Hope that helps.

I got a quote from Direct LIne, very good too, apart from the tracker. By the time you've paid for the tracker, it's more expensive than alot of other companies. A tracker just means you will get your car back (and sometimes if you are lucky, they catch the bugger too!), but who wants it back if it's been crashed/thrashed by some spotty youth?
