Default Turbo Lag Q

Hi All

Not had a scooby for many years...going to see a 2005 wide track hopefully this evening.. mapped to 320bhp.

Can some one remind me what the car is like below 3000rpm...as from what I remember it was very flat..and car would not really accelerate..and I was having to drop gears to go in a higher rev range..

Reason i ask is that my brother is reminding me of this..and says his 2010 TTrs does not have this issue...

Other questions...car being mapped to 320bhp...what mods would you expect on the car for this power? (Dyno Dynamics print out)

Good luck with the car today, have a good look at the paperwork, hopefully supplied with sale,
and show what mods have been done.

i know turbos have moved on but Scoobyclinic used to do some quality billet turbos. I would get a turbo capable of 500bhp plus and run it at lower boost

mapping is important so so if you can get either Paul blamire or andy Forrest to map it will be nice

Still trying to do some research...

https://www.scoobynet.com/engine-man...hp-550bhp.html

As I found a second hand turbo...but not sure.. if it's good..

Getting mixed responses..as I want to get the most out the car possible on standard internals..but reduce Lag..

Looking at some of the dyno prints on the net..some turbos kick in at 4000rpm..

A print out can’t tell you how the car pulls on the road, my graph looks like it only has 4000rpm of spool but it is much more than that. Mapping is the main thing when the car is done, the wrong map can add loads of lag.
