hi all first time poster and new to the group

i have just bought and taken a risk on a 2006 impreza wrx 2.5. with aprox 86k for a good price but,the engine is blown there is large hole in the block thrown a rod out, hoping the heads are ok but will no more once the engine is out and stripped, so i will be looking to source a second hand engine or block with crank. Would you guys be able to offer any info or recommend any where or any one that can help

I really wouldnt bother with a 2nd hand 2.5 engine, buy some used block halves and get somebody to build you an engine then providing your heads are good have them fitted.

You also need to find out why the original engine failed?

Nope. All 2.5 can and do let go irrespective of year.
