Default Bob Rawle and his attitude problem.

Watch this space. When Raggy Doo gets his car finished the forum will be told the truth about Mr Rawle and his attitude in general.

I thought Bob was meant to be one of the better mappers out there, I've seen quite alot of positive reviews on him

Not a bad bloke. Manners work both ways.
Considering all the mechanical issues that have been highlighted by Scoobyclinic you would struggle to see how the mapper was to blame.

I certainly haven't had any issues with Bob in all the years I have known him......... present ALL the facts from both sides and I am sure that a mutually agreeable scenario can be found

I just picked up on issues you identified yourself.
Who fitted the top mounted oil cooler that was rubbing on the headers?
Did the mapper work on the broken FBW plug on the engine?
Restricted flow (50%) to the FMIC - I bet the mapper never fitted it.

All documented in your current thread and the fact that you can only get sh"te fuel in EIRE hardly helps. I suppose it keeps Scoobyclinic out of the headlines for awhile.

the mapper didn’t fit anything you know this very well
the garage the car was at is where bob operates out of
they had the car for 8 weeks and he had access to it on three different ocassions
as I said previously between garage and mapper the car was Undrivebale after I drove it to them
the car never failed to start or drive prior to his map
the car used Hardly start and stutter and all sorts after his map
What part of that do you not understand ?

this thread isn’t even about me 1509 joe started this thread I’m assuming
he also has/ is have or has had issues with bob
lets wait for him to say what he has to say

I don’t like to poke my nose into things like this, but I will say. It does seem strange most on here that have posted have no issues with this Bob fella, so surely going on percentages his mapping is very good?? There are several issues Raggy that could be making your car splutter, have you changed plugs etc?? Is it just on cold start it’s not great?? As said, I’m not taking sides, but it’s a bit like tripadvisor, you go with the majority when choosing a restaurant etc if they’ve all given 5 stars

Everyone makes mistakes, mappers included. Never hear a bad word said about Andrew Carr, yet he screwed mine up. Thankfully he did fix his mistake and I used him again after that. Nice guy when he's got the time to spend with you.

Agree totally, but Raggy said it’s his third time of taking his car to him irrc. Surely after two times you’d never go back?? Mappers surely can’t make 3 mistakes on one vehicle?? Like I said in my post, I’m not taking sides, just saying my two penneth.

a mapper can only work with what he is given to work with ,, if the car has problems is the mapper expected to sort that out aswell or does that fall into someone else's lap ?? ,, bob didn't work on this car he was just expected to map it

the problem is you dont get the 1000s of very satisfied customers posting up about there cars being spot on and all going well ,,, most will only post when they are not happy about something ,,, but your right in what you say the percentages speak for them selfs

ironically all the positive comments on Bob on here probably do the opposite of whats intended and show that as a majority he has a good reputation

The truth of the matter is that most, if not all, dedicated Subaru mappers in the UK have an attitude problem, are half-educated about our cars at best and they're just trying to make as much money as a well-paid banker, charging way over the odds and blaming each other or the customer or the car when things don't run properly. I had my car mapped by 4 different mappers over the years. All, possibly bar one, big names and very frequently recommended by several forum members on here. Headgaskets were blown twice, boost leaks were missed repeatedly, the list goes on and on. The car never ran properly to be honest; it was either way too rich, or way too lean, jerking and stuttering all the time.
In the end I had to swap it for an unmodified JDM version, which runs as sweet as a nut. Hand on heart, I won't let anyone of these clowns touch it.
I suppose it should be a dead giveaway that tuners of other makes of cars (VW group, BMW etc) have big, organised, professional workshops, you could eat your food of their workbenches, rather than just a laptop and a couple of probes.

I have to agree with your brother on this one I'm afraid. I have been following your journey for some time and I have to admit that it does remind me of my story quite frequently. That said, I never took my car to Scoobyclinic, so they may be the only exception. Fingers crossed for you dude.
