Default Acceleration issues

Evening guys/gals, So I have made a jump into the Subaru world and purchased my first Impreza rx 2.0 awd sports wagon non turbo.
The past couple of days I’ve noticed a delay or lumpy acceleration response when I put the car under load?! It’s like it has to think about giving me the power then I get it. I understand that the engine needs the basics air, fuel and spark, so I have checked the MAF sensor and no issues there. New spark plugs fitted last month, there are no error codes when I scan with my obd reader. So as you can imagine I’m lost! A few people have mentioned the TPS could be the issue? so I had to disconnect the battery tonight to change a bulb and after doing this and reconnecting it the issue seems to have vanished?!?
Is there any advise for a Subaru newbie who has never worked on a flat 4 before, anything that could help would be much appreciated.

If its a classic disconnecting the battery will of reset the ecu. You'll have to wait and see does it reappear.

Yeah I have been out and it has started again, so I’m back to square one!! I’m going to test the TPS tomorrow when I can get my hands on a multimeter and see what happens.

As I was told too, with the engine running and disconnect the sensor to see if anything happens. Which it did the engine cut out and threw a code up.
Is that not right?
