Default Anyone seen or heard of this WRX? Cant shake the feeling of scam.

TLR any info on CK07 LWH or performance vehicle development in Leeds/ TRL in Yorkshire. Dont wanna get mugged off.

I'm looking at buying my second WRX, so not majorly informed.

Theres a cat D wrx for sale just past Leeds. The guys asking 5k or cash and a motorbike swap. Hes telling me the car has had an STI forged bottom end dropped in. By TRL in Yorkshire. The bodywork damage on the cat d was fixed by Bodyworx in Stoke on trent and the car was originally built by PVD (performance vehicle development) who are now bust apparently.

The car is supposedly running 407 bhp and 458 ftlbs (says there is a printout for this), sti front calipers, stage 3 clutch, ecutech running high and low boost, anti lag & launch control, gorgeous paint (tbf it does look good), bc coils and a few other bits. Didn't really chat much about the set up as I thought there would be receipts. Then he says no reciepts other then not and printout. And about PVD being liquidated so I got out of the convo.

There were a couple bad points, lips need folding, wheels repeating and wont go into high boost so the ECU needs a new map. Also it's done 117k miles.

I was hoping to find out if anybody had heard of any of these companies. Knows of a white WRX Hawkeye with reg CK07 LWH. Or am I likely to be losing a couple thousand here?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've done the MOT check.
Looked for a couple of companies. But I dont know what TRL stands for. Theres an essential bodyworks but no bodyworx. As for HPI. He said about cat d and colour change. Tbh if hear good things about the rest I'll hpi it myself. But I dont see the point in buying one if I find out it's just a cat d wrx that someone is chancing

It smells fishy, wouldn't be going near that one. Why would you build a Cat D WRX to that spec instead of starting from an STI?

I'd be looking for a through inspection from a subaru specialist.
A 400+ bhp subaru for £5k sounds very suspect. Particularly if it's got boost issues.
A 400 bhp engine build, with turbo and front mount would cost a lot more than that, so is the current owner fed up and wants rid?

Okay so https://m.facebook.com/groups/216920768388802?view=permalink&id=2183095911771268 that should be a link to the car but if not I've got some pics of the ad.

5k does seem very cheap to me. I think the best bet would be to get it over to a scooby specialist and see if they can identify the work been soent on it and how it's doing. Problem is I'm 3.5 hours away from the car so I'll just have to Google a garage and see what happens. unless anyone can recommend a specialist by Stockton on tees?

i believe so (although i think he claimed he built it himself haha), also built that green drag car that managed 2 runs in 18 months.

Also heard about parts disappearing from cars while they were there but that may just have been a rumour.

not really, its a cad D wrx with what sounds like a bodged together replacement engine. unless its just the way its written its not running the pvd engine any more.

'Hes telling me the car has had an STI forged bottom end dropped in. By TRL in Yorkshire'

Walk away, sound like nothing but problems

Dont bother with a Frankenstein car like this, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

Lol @ at him saying it's not going into high boost map so may need re-mapping.............did the high boost map get lost then? Did it just vanish? Sounds like a money pit to me.
