Default Bottom End Gone :(

soooo i thought it was all good to be true slowly ticking off the jobs list on my 04 blob and bam ... the dreaded knock

i dont have money at the minute to forge it, i just want it back on the road, so the choice i have are, full engine rebuild or buy a replacement engine?

im more inclined to get a rebuild on my current engine as i could buy a replacement and that go on me, at least i know a rebuild one is good to go, just wondering if anyone can give me some ball park figures on a rebuild?

TIA

I would be more concerned about why it started knocking before putting another engine in. Running 5w30 oil by any chance?

Have you had a word with any engine builders to compare the cost of a rebuild to the cost of fitting a second hand one?

There's a good guy broke a hawkeye here in Northern Ireland and is selling a forged engine from it. Car looked mint , real shame to break but thats just the way they go these days.
