Default Td04 upgrade

Hi guys,

I'm still thinking about the bits I need for my upgrades.

to keep costs down I am considering rebuilding my turbo instead of buying a new one for my 04 wrx.

I see there are rebuild kits online to rebuild them but can someone point me towards what is needed to get a bit more out of the standard turbo.

Thanks.

dan

But not cheap. TD05 would be cheaper.

TD04 rebuild instructions (website mentioned on document no longer available)
As mentioned elsewhere fitting a 19T compressor wheel will require the case machining to suit.

You can buy a new CHRA I bought one for my Saab turbo. Easy swap and cheap option.

A few options for DIY depending what you can do;
Stock fitment billet compressor wheel
Larger billet compressor wheel wheel and machined or replacement compressor cover
Replacement exhaust turbine
Clipped/backcut exhaust turbine
Larger exhaust turbine with machined housing

Some billet wheels need a machined backplate, superback etc
