Default petrol tank rust

Gents, I have a serious amount of rust inside my fuel tank and its bogging the pump filter and pickup causing problems. I either need a new tank or some method of cleaning this out with a rust converter then coat it with something that petrol will not eat into.

Has anyone has similar problems and what did you do?

G

New tank dude. You'll never fix it once it starts.

This is the effects of standing or persistently driving with less than half a tank of fuel. Its worse now we have ethanol in petrol.

Best way to avoid this is keep the tank full, especially if storing over winter etc ...the air space allows the corrosion to take place. I've learnt the hard way on my bikes
