Default GT30 OR GT35

Hi All,

I have a 2.1 Engine tuner build which i have had to the past 2 years now and is fantastic.

I am looking at going rotated and wanted to get some reviews on the GT30 and GT35.
I use the car at weekend and do a lot of santa pod day and track days as well.

Like to see what every one thinks of these two turbo as I stuck on a decision.

Thanks!

A 35R on a 2.1 is way too laggy nothing much below 5k rpm, 30R with a 0.63 housing if you want a point and squirt machine. If you prefer top end power then stick with the 0.82 housing on the 30R

GT30R is a bit old these days? Newer stuff like GTX might have wider power band for the same power.

GT30R 0.82 AR should do about 520 HP if you have the octane, simply based on 10 HP/lb/min with a 52lb compressor wheel that in this case is supported by adequate turbine wheel and housing.

For your use, I'd be cautious with fixed valve timing and single scroll old tech turbos, depending on your useful/safe rev limit/gearing. Easy to go too big and ruin a responsive engine.
