Default Dash cam advise.... Near miss, then girl hit by car, then RTA all in 10 hours

******** pulls out in front of me (behind camera car)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=650K...ature=youtu.be

4 minutes later girl steps out in front of me (two cars ahead of camera car), hit brakes and avoided disaster, unfortunately car behind didn't and she goes again playing chicken

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bx_...ature=youtu.be

Then this at the crack of dawn the next morning.

I'm buying a dash cam, what do you recommend?

Cheers Chris,

I have just had a quick look and it appears this is forward facing only, I think this day a rear facing camera would be helpful...

I put a Vantrue N2 f+r in our golf but there isn't really a decent mounting position without the sun visor obscuring the rear camera unless you want it in the middle of the screen.
So may be worth looking at a camera that has a separate camera to fit in the rear hatch.

I was just looking at these https://www.nextbase.co.uk/dash-cams/rear-view-mirror-dash-cam/

Again no rear facing camera, and no ability to add one which is disappointing which is the point you have raised Jay. Why has nobody created a mirror with rear facing camera? edit: I stand corrected there are some, but all unbranded on ebay with limited features

I have Koonlung K1S installed in my Scoob with individual front and rear cameras, however Koonlung have gone bust, but the rights to their patents etc. have been bought by a UK based company who intend to bring out the K2S at some stage. Can't give you any more details though.

Do a search as well, we must have had 10 threads on this in the last year.~
Not being rude, but you will gain a lot more information.

This is the one I was planning on getting last year after researching many models and their suitability (front and rear cameras) but found a few reports of unreliability so I held off until the issues were sorted.

Now you say they have gone bust, maybe a result of the above. A UK company taking them over would be brilliant, especially with a longer warranty (we can only hope), so I guess I’ll watch this space!

I have this LUKAS LK-7950 WIFI Duo Pro Front and Rear Dash Camera fitted : http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/pro...oducts_id=3699.

I had it installed by Scoobyworld and they did a great job; all cables hidden away behind the trims neatly and hardwired into the fuse box.

Also have this Accfly 1080P HD Dual Lens dash cam in the other half's mini ... very basic but does the job well:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EL5V7TC/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1SZLM6NEZOLSJ https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EL5V7TC/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1SZLM6NEZOLSJ

Installed it myself, cables hidden behind the trim etc, but didn't hardware it into the fuse box - we just leave it plugged into the 12v socket.

Both the Lukas and Accfly front cameras sit nicely behind the rear view mirror so they are not distracting.

Nextbase , don’t get a cheap sd card , re fresh the card every few days , i had my ute hit by an old dear , i was on a roundabout i had priority , other side are trying to say i did wrong , the footage is great if they go that far i look forward to seeing them in court and playing it , it shows very clearly they got it wrong , for 40£ for a nextbase 112 and then an sd card around 10 to 12£ best money and peace of mind for a long time , a lot of people do not tell the truth when they crash , how can i be in the wrong if i’m on a roundabout and you don’t give priority and hit me ??!!

I have a MIO Mivue touch, it has the benefit of having built in speed camera alerts for the lifetime of the camera for all of Europe, and that comes in very handy. Quality is pretty decent.
I had some utter ***** change lanes multiple times across a roundabout then pull in front of me, drove into my lane and then brake checked me several years ago in an old Fiesta ST; I couldn't avoid him, and hit the back of his car, light scratches to his bumper but smashed my headlamp and damaged the wing and bumper; he claimed I was tailgating him even though I was in the other lane of a dual carriageway..

Since that time I had a dashcam. It's so infuriating that there are so many bellends on the road today and all of them deny fault - today's society, blame everyone else don't take responsibility....gutted for you mate hope all are OK.

Yes people often lie after having a smash , i was rushed to hospital at 4 am this morning they thought i was having a heart attack but found out it was due to the back injury from the smash and nerve damage , the damage to my ute was 7200£ it’s a big shame as it’s a rare car , it’s running a 500 bhp 500 foot pound 6.2 v8 , it’s a aussie version of a transit van , hoping insurance company say yes to the repair, the dashcam footage i can’t emphasise how important it is especially when it’s your pride and joy
