Spares advice.
Hello all, I've recently purchased my first Impreza, It's a 1996 STI import. I purchased it with a seized engine. I've found it is seized due to a spun bearing between the con rod and crank shaft. I am having the crank reground by a reputable machine shop. What I would like to know is what retailers you would recommend for a gasket kit, service kit, clutch, timing belt, water pump and oil pump? I would like to use genuine Subaru parts. Thanks.

I would speak to AS Performance http://asperformance.com/ or Car and Custom Garage https://www.carandcustomgarage.com, both highly regarded and know their Subaru's but have genuine parts.

Thanks for the warning regarding the regrinding of the crank, I'm willing to take a chance.
Would anyone recommend ICP?

Partsouq for general parts but don’t forget a bit of tax on top as you are importing it , and as above , unless it can be polished out then it’s a new crank for me , for it to be bad enough to sieze then definitely new crank , for what they are not that expensive

As above, I've found both AS performance and import car parts to both helpful, knowledgeable and very price competitive.
And for car parts that are hard to find or expensive to get in the uk I'd recommend this site:

I've just used them to buy some cam sensor for my JDM legacy. They were cheap and the shipping was very easy to arrange. As the parts were less than £135 they didn't qualify for duty, but I did have to pay VAT plus a customs clearance charge of £10.
