Default Air con delete views

As above guys and girls is air con delete worth doing as it’s only £50 for the kit from icp and I’m thimking engine will be at less stress without a belt and the pump on but that’s my thinking

Is it worth doing?

What are your views, opinions or experiences on this “mod” people?

Thankyou for all responses in advance

I hate being warm and I hate the mist on the inside of my windscreen so my aircon is staying. my last 2 imprezas had it removed, could I tell the difference in performance on a road car...........nope.

on a dedicated track car then I can see the point but not on a road car.

up to you though buddy.

Ask yourself the question can you live without it if yes do it,i removed mine as I was rotating the inlet on my car so just got rid at the same time, plus In the 15 years that I have had my car i can count how much times I have used aircon on one hand Lol.SJ.

I removed mine last year and prefer opening the roof flap if I’m too hot as that directs a good amount of air in.

my aircon has been deleted, but it's not a road car (at least not dedicated)...

I'd never do it personally if it was my road car - it only saves about 10kg (i'd guesstimate), and as for load on engine, meh... the compressor disconnects and freewheels at full throttle anyway afaik

Removed mine on the Hawk only because I hated the configuration , engine looks much better without / also my pipe work & oil cooler sit nicely with no air con rad , it’s just a messy clap trap with it installed , I do agree with the demist tho , but as for to hot in ( summer ) come on its uk not Bahamas. Your choice tho

On a hot day or after an slightly spirited drive putting the air con on as it turns the second fan in is a good way of bringing down engine temps , plus it would be nice in summer to keep a bit cooler , removing the air con rad would help airflow but that is more directed at a track car , your choice

Thanks for all the replys folks

I don’t use the a/c at all but taking the route of just replacing both belts this weekend as the a/c one is worn costing £15 for both belts instead of deleting the a/c

The spec c roof flap mod is definitely one of the best mods I’ve done for sure
if it’s not raining it’s open

The icp delete kit looks like a tidy set up. I was thinking about getting one I've removed my aircon from the engine bay but what bits need removing inside the car?

I suppose you could always switch the aircon off & then open the roof flap.Same difference.
The roof flap wont work when you need it most........sitting in traffic.

Sounds like a retrograde step to me.

When did we start using Delete instead of remove!
Delete is something a computer does, remove is something a person does.

Also why pay 50 quid for something when all you need to do is unscrew and remove the AC pump??

The mind boggles.

Delete also means to remove(verb)
The delete kit tidys up the engine bay.
I think I have one but can't remember as I'm not overly fussed about a tidy engine.
Lots of people are tho and spend waaaay more than 50 quid for a tidy one.
