Default Abandoned Subaru Dealership

I'm sure this has never been shared before because I've just taken these photos of this old Subaru showroom which is local to me. https://www.carsaddiction.com/articl...t-car-showroom .... only basic front wheel drive Classic Imprezas have been spotted, but who knows what they have in storage!

Insane, when was this posted? Wonder if you can google map it see if still there? Can't believe that a Malta dealer not bought the cars, must be a legal reason. As when I went there a bout 15 years ago dealers were importing Escort Cosworths from UK and selling for loads more. And that's with import tax which I think is a few grand on top.

Strange, as if it went bust, Subaru would have taken the vehicles away (assuming the dealership hadn't paid for them)
None of the tyres look flat flat, and some of the plants are still going....just lol

Maybe in Malta, dealers back then had to buy the cars when they landed on site, and perhaps cash flow saw them out.
Somebody somewhere will own that site, and everything in it.....

Puts me in mind of Famagusta in Cyprus.

Wow can't believe that. As has been said someone must own it. I would have thought dealer ship would have to buy them in. As I was told there's a £2000 import fee which puts off people buying new cars. Hence you see a lot of old classic cars driving around. As they just keep repairing them. Not a rich country.

Most of the cars in there do not have exciting engine/drivetrain layouts. Would you pay £££ to get a 1.5 FWD Impreza exported, registered, and most probably redo the gaskets for havign a car sitting so long? That is I'm assuming the seller is not asking premium price for the cars.

I can't believe it either - especially as the flowers are still green and clearly watered regularly...

have you ever been to Malta? id say you see loads of old classic cars driving around because they don't rust away to nothing and its not as if they are doing monumental mileage in them. I wouldnt say it is as a particularly poor country

cracking car museum also which has a couple of scoobs in it - https://www.classiccarsmalta.com/ - pics taken back in 2012

It's the shell most would be after. A rust free brand new shell on its own got to be worth 4K plus. And will only go up in price.

Yes been there as grand parents moved out there. And yes it's because of what I said. To import a car they have to pay high tax. And they have no car industry over there so all cars are imported.

So they just keep mending old cars. So you see old fords and Vauxhalls knocking around. Plus when you see something like a Toyota starlet gt, there normally show room condition.

Was speaking to one lad and he was buying his first car which was an old Mazda 323 and he paid £1200 and it wasn't amazing condition. At the time they were selling over here for half the price.

Aye, a brand new rust free RHD Impreza shell would make the perfect doner for a rusty or written-off JDM or UK restoration.

Let's face it 95% of classic shape Imprezas in regular use in the UK are rust buckets underneath.

In some places. All the roads are full of pot holes. There's just one road that has none and that's main road though Malta. Only reason that was retarmaced was because the queen visited some year ago. And that was the road she would be using.

Anyway these cars haven't been on the road.
