Default What bhp on std injectors

Hi all I've been leaning towards the idea of 400+ bhp on my jdm sti widetrack since last year

so getting all the bits together and have few questions

Would I need to upgrade my injectors?

Would I really need a FPR?

Don't want to go front mount so anything above the 400 mark I'll be happy with

Which turbo would be best as I want minimal lag and I don't do much top end speed

Fuel pump, CAI, downpipe allready mapped in all all help and advice will be appreciated Thankyou

I was told its not wise to max out injectors, something to do with duty? Most people advised 750-800cc injectors using the standard regulator, rather than spending on a regulator just to ring more out of the injectors I had.

Zen performance did me a set of injectors for not much more than I eventually sold my pinks for

I was told it's not advisable to go above 85% duty with injectors. If they're near the limit you could get problems in cold weather when the car is making more power.
650's are good up to 450hp even with methanol.

Zany, I'm using a lm420 turbo along with id850 injectors, Rcm fuel pump and other supporting mods should be pushing alittle over 400 but still to have it on the dyno yet.
I decided to keep the standard sti tmic and not go fmic although I could make alittle more
Power if I did....

Thankyou all for the input so far

So no FPR needed but will be investing in some injectors defo

Which leaves me with choice of turbo's which I would want to have but just want the 400+ figure with minimal lag

My 550s maxed out at 350 odd with a standard regulator. I’ve got id1000 and they was fine at 458 with the standard regulator and 340lph pump.

Depends what ur expecting obviously you will be use to the vf36 or 37, if ur looking at a lm420 or sc42 then at the start it will seem alittle laggy in comparison but the power once ur on boost it will just keep pulling unlike the 36 or 37 which will run out of puff quite early.

The turbo won't kick in I think it's 800rpm later than the vf's above but that is something you do get use to.

As said above the ID ( injector dynamics ) range of injectors are quite a popular choice I'm using the Id 850 range which is more than enough for the power level I'm at.. I bought them new via as performance but reading a previous thread I think they are having a few private problems and maybe down for a little while

The SC42 billet is a nice quick spooling turbo and on my set up jdm 6 speed I don't feel lag, also running a fmic,740cc pretty much instant power and just keeps pulling.
1.6bar should see 400+
I'm sure I saw a graph in the 450's maybe with a splash of meth?

An Owens version of Litchfield lm450 through chevron Motorsport
63 mm intake 455/1.7 bar
Lag more than standard but at 3300 rpm the turbo starts come in very hard

I'll be getting the bits bought in April thanks for the heads up on the injector side of things

I'll give as performance a shout once they are sorted as they looked after me before on the suspension side of things very nice firm to deal with

I'd preferably want as early spool as I can I'm not much of topend high speed kind of person but know when to drop a gear love my B roads so little lag wouldn't be a problem

If I can't decide by April on the turbo I'll ask whoever maps it at the time as top end I'm not arsed about early spool up and the magic number for me would be 420

Been 2years deciding to sell or keep and it's staying now till I go 6ft under no point spending so much cash otherwise
so I just want the 400bhp figure and all parts off the shelf unless I find some bargains before April

Some very fruitful advice indeed thankyou all much and anymore input will be gladly appreciated

Defo bro minds made up to keep for good now

I've always wanted an Impreza that I could say it's just running over 400 bhp and do everything myself apart from the mapping
I know it sounds silly but I'm just chasing the figure bro without losing that twinscroll pickup if you know what I mean...
so no iPhone 10, no holiday I'm going to budget a clean £4K and hope I get some change after to get some snow foam

650cc injectors, like asnu, IDs etc, turbo I would choose sc42, advisable to get a fpr tbh to control fuel flow and the usual mods to make the power, like fuel pump etc if on old stock pump still and decats.

Mate here is the easy way

1. Open autotrader
2. Advertise car
3. Sell car
4. Go back to auto trader
5. Buy GTR R35

This way you can be a cheque book tuner

Another way much harder but far more rewarding in your situation is look at your needs and mod your car based on that.

true I'll be doing all the mods myself then get it tuned had a look at a lot of cars but there's nothing more satisfying then going out in the scoob do now it's getting its power mods as I'm done with the rest of it hopefully £4K should cover it?

the MD321H will make good figures on a 2.5, not sure if it has the top end of the SC42 but deff worth considering if a good one comes up.

A twinscroll sc42 will be epic.
I loved how the sc42 non twin scroll went, I sold it, and bought another one it's that good for the power I want, but more importantly how I want it to drive.
Vf36 come and go and would be a cheaper shout.
Do it Gucci to match the car and spend the pee if you have to.
