Holy MPG!
Drove about 150 miles the other day and managed 31mpg in my 336bhp 2005 STi! For some reason this is an absolute miracle, as I never expected to see 31mpg. I know motorway miles is different, but for once I sat at 70mph rather than 80 and it improved the mpg drastically. I didn't think I'd see the day of 30mpg plus haha..
Anyone else got over 30mpg before?

Not in my newage, but the classic got 30mpg average, even though it had more power... To be honest, I don't see why people don't equate economy with these motors... Sure they'll drop into single figures if you rag them, but what car won't?

Chill mate, I'm just saying I found it funny how I managed to actually get decent MPG for once. I don't care that I don't get good MPG, but I just never thought I would see the 30s.

I'm usually around the 28-30mpg mark with a mixture of driving which I'm pleased with. Much less power than you in my wrx wagon currently @ 246bhp & 270 ft-lbs of torque.

Averaged 36mpg in my FSTi in a 200 motorway journey doing between 50-80mph pretending there is an egg between the throttle pedal and my foot trying not to break it.
I only did this exercise once. The next day I did around 15mpg in a trackday, that was slightly more fun

You must drive like a granny.... I average 4-6 mpg on track taking it easy. At one point we were down to 1.7mpg...
Probably only average 12 out on the road.

Regularly averaged 28mpg in my blob wagon ppp day to day and 36mpg on my regular 1300mile trip across Europe @ a steady 70/80mph, think I could have got more if I just stuck to 70mph but I'm either trying to make the ferry or just wanting the drive to be over. I stick to the speed limit on motorways as the fines are expensive and a load of hassle that just costs time and money I'd rather spend on other things.
There's no reason not to want to get some reasonable mpg when just going about your daily business and then watch it drop by 10/15mpg when having a bit of fun, goes with the territory.

Yeah I filled it to the tank, and then drove 150 miles and filled up. What I filled up is how many litres I used, and then I found an MPG calculator online.

Pretty promising that the WRX is good on MPG. I know you don't buy these cars for economy, but why not have a car that's as fun as the scoob, but also does good fuel when going about your daily chore eh?
I do about 170ish miles a week in my STi and average about 22mpg I reckon I could easily do better, but it's so addicting to just get on boost every time I drive it. I feel as though if I don't drive it properly it's a waste! I obviously keep within the limits of the law..

Usually people give it the oh well you don't buy cars like this to get high mpg and then show off how low their mpg is like people will be impressed or something. But filling up with fuel no matter how much you love your car is a bloody chore.
Some people only have 1 car so getting decent mpg is a must when on a run and then when allowed you can get lower mpg figures.

No you are 100% right, there is no switch it is just ON! No point building a car like this to not use it. Every time I go out it is to beat it's head in....
