Default Exhaust to loud on hawkeye

Unfortunately I need to quieten the wife's 06 wrx down because she's ment to be using it everyday but she's not because of the noise. It's currently got a back box and that's it. Can someone advise the best way to quieten it without fitting a complete standard exhaust. I don't want it really quiet just quieter than it is now. Thanks in advance

Does it still have the resonated centre pipe?

A back box on it's own shouldn't be too loud if so..

It seems to just have a straight through pipe with a back box

Bung or exhaust valve. Search eBay. I'm thinking of exhaust valve!

Mine is spot on and it's running Prodrive decat midpipe, backbox but a afterburner middle section with resonator.

The resonator helps reduce the droning noise that you'd usually hear in the cab whilst driving normally.

Prodrive bbox, I changed the centre section to a resonated one when I had a ninja back box it made no difference if it's decatted then it's all down to the back box

I used to have the Cobra Sport backbox with resonated centre pipe, nice sound but not overly loud. No drone at all in the cabin.

This is the one I had:-

http://cobrasport.com/index.php/cobr...resonated.html

The site didn't differentiate between road/race/track types when I bought mine.
