Side light dramas...
Took my blob sti to Halfords to buy 2 new side lights and have them fitted.. the girl who came out to fit them took one look and said your bumper needs to come off to get these fitted!!! Really, I thought it was just the grill? Didn't believe her so next stop was quick fit... who said exactly the same thing?!
Please tell me the bumper doesn't have to come off just to change some bulbs??
Been looking on you tube for a vid but can't find one for a blobeye...
Thanks👍

Bumper doesn't need to come off, but it can be a bugger to pop the lights out where they meet the wing, they're are two push stud type things there and they take a fair amount of force to get them out, grill side there's a couple of bolts the one at the bottom can be difficult to spot.
No point to these lights what so ever as they do sweet F A, but you'll have to have them for the mot which was why I had to do mine.

Thanks a lot everyone👍
Sounds abit fiddly but I'll have a go this week!
And won't be using Halfords fitting service again either... wouldn't trust them to change my dust caps now!🙈

Thanks all for this thread, very useful. I blame Subaru poor design for a serviceable item, but what are Sunday's for !!
By the way, given i'm about to undertake this, will headlamps still be aligned ? I noticed it failed an MOT 3 years ago for this reason .... doesn't seem to have any crash damage.

Virtually all modern cars are designed the same way. On my Astra H it's bumper off to do headlight bulbs. Happily, it's quite easy and only takes about ten minutes.
Having said that, I also once had a 99 plate Xantia. Front foglight bulb change was £97 +VAT + bulb cost....bumper off, three hours. Mine went to the scrappers with it still needing a bulb
