Default what grade oil......................

for a blob wrx?

not looking to cause any arguments just want to know the best grade oil for my car.

ps, engine oil not gearbox

Have you just got the car John, does it say what was used before in service history.
I think for blob it manual it says 5w30
I run 10w50 in my blob and 10w40 in my classic.
I use synionic oil in both mine now.

5w30 / 5w40 either will do, unless tracked etc

5 is too thin imo, but perfect for this recent winter weather.

Ill generally swap out to 10/40 come spring...
5w helps my 6am cold morning starts to work!
