Very wrong.

You cant have proper anti lag on a road car. Only farty poppy nonsense.

Oh right didn't know sooo even though every thing is fine I should get a rebuild ? Sounds odd too me. Even if it popped I'd have to rebuild it anyway wouldn't i ??

tis fine, how will you know unless you ask?

The rods and pistons wont do 400 and if your doing that then your into full rebuild territory.

Decent forged pistons, decent rods, decent head studs, decent crank bearings and then build it back up with decent headgaskets and you'll be good for 450bhp. beyond that you will need to look at having the block converted to closed deck.

to hit 400 you'll also need injectors, inlet pipe, turbo, fuel pump, front mount is advisable plus possibly a stand alone ecu.

Your gonna be heading towards 10k to get it there.

You don't need anti lag on a road car

The wrx 2.5 is more reliable than the sti 2.5, but it does have [not very] common failure points.

If you want 400bhp, sell it
If you are happy with 330-350bhp, you will need turbo, injectors, decat pipes and a remap

Have a look for a forged car with 400bhp and save a small fortune

I think perhaps this is just a misunderstanding of "anti lag". As people have said - you can have AL mapped in with certain software (to run on a switch) which is effectively just an ignition cut and creates some pops and bangs. It's quite amusing in a car park (I have it on my car) but in terms of actually driving, it feels horrible and will not add any speed.
Real anti lag (like you see on rally cars and some race cars) isn't just a mapped feature, its actually plumbed in as the cars are developing boost at a standstill and it's actually usable whilst driving. There's some info here, it requires the throttle to be bypassed etc and some hardware changes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antilag_system

But equally, in a road car it will just destroy the lifespan of most components as they're hugely strained. Unless you have a massive budget and are really committed to having it...I wouldn't bother. Just get a decent turbo and a good map (alongside the other supporting mods) and your car will be plenty fast enough for the road.

a bigger turbo will likely make you slower on the road too....

its the brakes and suspension that give you a fast road car...
