If advertised with 'SILVER, Full service history' then I think that's false advertising.
I miss my Black 2003 STI. First thing I did was get the PPP put on and you will have better fun
They are on the back page mate. Just waiting for all the recepts to come through as the dealers only had it 2 days and not reciver (all the paperwork) they said. I've put a deposit down waiting on proof of recepts for the service ect.
I did a dvla mot check and all milage checks out and it's not wanted for much regarding mot's. the odd pitted disc/drop link boarder line tyre, chip in the screen (been replaced) so no major things.
2bh I think I'll just service it any way as I will know it's been done.

But no 2010 service? To me that's not FSH. As long as you're happy.
Not trying to sound too Sherlock Holmes here But why is the hand writing the same for the last 2 different garage stamps? Makes me suspicious. Again as long as you're happy.

2bh I did say I'm happy to pay a deposit so long as you have proof of the last service cambelt/cluch/water pump that's nearly 1k worth of work. so I said I want to see an invoice for that (deal breaker) as you don't throw that sort of thing away do you. I'm also ringing the other garages up on Monday to see if they can confirm on there system.
They did say they were still waiting for the rest of the 'paper work' so ill be checking. Maybe I am bing sceptic but that's just me lol, I keep every recept for work I have done on any of my cars.

The plot thickens, I did some extensive research and found out were they brought the car from (and how much for) the previous garage has still got the folder with all the invoices/recept/tracker info ect. BUT they could only find invoices till 2009 (1st owner) so it's going to be an interesting phone call when they ring me up to say they've the folder as I already know what init. As far as I am concerned that last service/clutch/cambelt/water pump hasn't been done I also can't get in touch with the last stamper/garage what has worried me. The deposit was put down awaiting supporting paperwork so stay tuned for an update Tuesday.

Probably why the handwriting looks the same on the last 2 Service stamps. Made up to look like its had full service history.
Have you checked the MOT history as well? Using the reg and V5C number?

I know problems I had on my 2003 STi Type UK (When I Owned it) was that I had a failure on anti-rollbar bushes being perished.

Yes I did check if you guys wanna have a look and tell me what you think?
Reg:yp53yld

As on discovering this not worth what they want. It's missing best part of 1k worth of servicing. I did clearly stated that I'm happy to pay a deposit to hold the car upon receiving the supporting documents. But as from what I can see they don't have ill be getting my deposit back.

Mobile Tyres are a tyre fitting company and don't do servicing according to their website. Even if they do I doubt they know much about Subarus and BP Auto Engineers don't really exist. Search for them on Google and the only mention you will find is the ad for your car.

Get your deposit back and find a better example please

PS I just bet you have hassle getting your deposit back.

PPS Stay away from Cheshire Performance or whatever they are called this week too please.... just in case you see a replacement car there.... they do not have a good reputation on here, but tend to have a lot of Subarus for sale.

It's a real shame as it's such a tidy car. I'll be ringing up Monday to put my case across. If they refuse to give my deposit back i have no problem going down a legal route, as the car isn't as described as it's not a 'full comprehensive service history'.

Better safe than sorry and just be patient as the right one will come along. Good luck with the deposit, I hope I'm wrong and they give it you back with no quibbles.

FFS, another fleecing dealer. Its getting worse everyday.

This was Labours fault, giving chavs and scallies better education, now they know how to use a computer and write and everything (but they didn't think to not use the same handwriting on two services doh)

Right. Here we go.
Just got off the phone to the garage who sold it to the dealers I'm buying it off.. they said they accepted the subaru as a partx and basically everything is how it was when they received it. So unless the 2nd owner was trying to get some sort of higher price by boosting his service history then god knows. Is there any way I can find out who owned the car without looking at the v5?

He could quite possibly of been.

I got stung by Scoobybits in Cornwall who made up a load of history on my first Type R, its not a nice feeling is it? thankfully you havent bought it yet.

Even if you find out who owned it, do you think they would confess to editing the service history? I doubt it.

But what I don't understand trinity as it's only had 2 owners from new. 1st owner from new till 2009 (full service) then 2nd owner from 2009 till present why wouldn't you keep up such a un blemished history?
I am going to try and see if I can find out the 2nd owner and ask what's been done, I do have till next weekend any ways.
I have 2 options either take the hit and possibly loose my diposit.
Or knock them down further as they have no proof of the work that has been done so 'not as described' and i'll have it done?

Well, at that point the car is six-seven years old so the guy might of done the work himself, or could just not bothered, or couldnt afford it after the running costs being high. Believe it or not, this happens a lot. You will probably not ever get the actual truth, so its up to you to make a decision on what you are willing to pay for it.

I think you have fair argument regarding your deposit if you can prove those companies either, dont exist, or didnt do the service work, because the dealer will then liable for false advertising.

Or take it to a handwriting specialist and get them to declare the writing was done by the same person!

My feeling is, the previous owner got those stamps and was probably just for simple oil changes, then the dealer wrote in what 'work' had been done. But as you pointed out, could of also of been the previous owner blagging it before trading it in.

I would take it , that it does not have FSH and those written in works probably arent genuine. So then look at the car from that angle and make a decision.

Don't expect them to remember the car, if they do service work and tyre fitting, they are probably dealing with hundreds of cars a week, so if they dont know or dont have a record, its not to say it 'hasnt' been there...but as F1-fan said, they dont claim to do servicing on their website. With business being tough, whatever a company offers, youll can be well sure they advertise it!

Sorry, I thought you had already checked about the BP people.

It's quite simple really,a book of stamps and extra jobs in a service book is worth nothing unless it is backed up with detailed receipts about exactly what work was done and materials/service parts used.

I did say somthing along them lines when looking through the book with the dealer mate 'anyone can stsmp a book i need to see recepts and invoices' he asured me that all the paperwork is on its way with recepts ect but from my research there won't be so when he rings me up to go over what he's got ill be withdrawing my interest and deposit(hopefully)--£250 as I agreed to pay the deposit 'awaiting proof of service history'

Well there you ago, without the paperwork the deal is null and void, so no problem refunding your deposit......in theory

Any garage in particular or just the area lol as I know Hurst Cars have a good rep on here.
I still may go through with this if I can get hold of the previous owner can shed some light on it. It could be the the 1st garage added on the comets so it looked better for the sale who knows.
