Our trip to the 'RING' 1/5/14 - 5/5/14
We were over at the 'RING' for a few days 1/5/14 till 5/5/14
Did see quite a few scoobies on track but never seen many in the car park!! guess they were making good thier time on the track
Anyway just thought I would share our trip. Hope to be in the Scoob next year!!!
Think this is my 4th trip to the 'RING' but always been with the bike up till this year! I hated it on the bike, as the first lap I ever did on the 3rd corner a car almost took me out!! did a couple more laps but was always worried but being taken out so never really enjoyed it. I really just went for the Holiday for the years to follow after that.
Anyway this year I offered to take the bike trailer over for the guys and take the Disco. Best decision I have made I think
The run down to the ferry was damp, but not too wet! The weather over there was fantastic the whole time apart from a few showers the first day we were there.
Did 4 laps in the Disco which performed much better than I ever expected it would!!! Could be doing with a set of APs on it too though
Think my fastest lap was 11.44 and that was with 6 people in the car!!! I could never get a solo lap as everyone wanted to go round in the Disco for a laugh
Would manage a lot quicker if I could get the traction control fully turned off as it just dies coming out of the corners!!
After the laps in the Disco and getting to understand the track a wee bit more I quite fancy having another bash with the bike!
Any way the pics and videos
Our pad for the week
All the way to Germany and we bump into Guys that live less than 40 miles from us!
The Disco's tyres held up well
One of the guys we were with managed a 8.30 minute lap, scary ****!!!!
Seen many of these!! was closed quite a lot due to smashes!!!
Norma heading out for her first ever lap of the 'RING' !! well done you
Norma just back from her lap of the 'RING'
Norma and 2 of the other Guys did the 'RING TAXI' Think it was the highlight of her trip
Went for a bit of sight seeing on the Saturday as the 'RING' was closed most of the day

I've been 4 times as well and going for my 5th trip in 9 days time with South East Scoobies (12 cars going, think it'll be 10 scoobs, a Golf R32 and a 911 GT3). Usually see a few other english scoobs going round whilst we're there. Can't wait!
Cochem's a lovely town for a visit as well isn't it.

Well you guys have made me feel good about my life. Oh well ,my mum and dad have got a nice big garden,I mite go if the weather is nice this weekend.
Nice to see you don't have to go flat out though, I am not in the best of health and would not be able to take a scoob flat out for a full lap. My use some of your pics to see what the wife thinks. What is it like if you have kids?
