Default power or torque for certain time or terminal speed ?

Thinking, after reading the car spec vs drag strip performance thread below, has any one got a rule of thumb for power vs elapsed 1/4 mile time and terminal speed, and similar for torque vs elapsed time & terminal speed?

Would be useful to see what was needed for a 11 or 10 second 1/4 mile run!

11 second run would be 400bhp plus and a 10 seconds run would be over 500bhp plus

The above is very simplistic as weight, gearing, tyres, suspension and experience of driver all have an equal part to play.

I'd agree with both of you, from looking at the cars out there and their set up - big turbo's etc. I felt it was, all being equeal ( driver, conditions etc. ) 350 - 400 bhp, mid-low 12's, 400-450 bhp = 11.5-12.0, 450- 500 - low 11's, 500 + = 10.5-11.0.

Of course same power but more torque would squew that .. torque giving the time and power the terminal speed! I think ???

Obv. weight plays a factor, and grip ( LSD's, suspension, tyres ) and of course driver ... how good a start / 60 ft time ( I do this one a year so not that good, best was a 1.7 60 ft ).

Helps look at what I need to do / get power / torque wise if I wanna challenge for 11's or even 10's !!!

My past records :

TD04 on decat d/pipe&exhaust, scooby ECu = 14.4 sec 1/4 at 92 terminal ( 2004 )

TD05 on decat etc. Apexi PFC, STi TMIC, headers, 550 injs, 13.2 secs @ 99 mph terminal ( 2005 )

TD05 20G on 800 Injs, FMIC, headers, 12.6 secs @ 118 mph terminal ( 2007 )

TD05 20G, 3" d/pipe and exhaust, PFC, headers, FMIC, 12.1 : 109 mph terminal

Certainly more torque on the 20G, but not RR'd it, ( was 363 bhp / 325 lbft on the std TD05 though at Well lane and other rolling roads, see scooby magazine! ).

Im not sure what power my wagon is as its mapped on the road. But its near enough maxed out the standard air flow meter on a version5 afm. So if anyone knows what the limit of they are then thats my power and ran a 10.9.
But my car is pretty stripped out.

When I ran the std TD05 I had maxed out the std 1994 MAF above 5500 revs, was running 363 bhp. Your times say you are way ahead of that! Must be later MAF had more capacity, like the later 1997 on MAP sensors ???

I got a Z32 MAF in now and over 4.55 volts on that out of 5 v used!
