So 5 years ago today I picked the car up.. completely standard!!

Bit of a difference now lol..

On that note not a massive amount being done atm. Tidied up some wiring over xmas and few other little bits.

I have put my Cupra R up for sale. Plan is to get rid of that and use some of the money to finally finish the car! Will be using it as a daily as I only do 25 miles a day so can live with the fuel bills.

Need to get it done and enjoy it!

managed to get Monday 20th for mapping. I have to take a days holiday but well worth it so only 10 days away.

while its in for MOT tomorrow getting on the ramp after at mates garage giving it full once over.
then Sunday just finial wiring on the Defi gauges...

question for you lads..... when I start the car sinc putting this turbo in it idles at 2250rpm.. then drops down to normal 1100rpm when warm.. im presuming that this is just the new turbo set up and the fact I am only running one lamda sensor.. so will be sorted at mapping?

with the mapping will be having the wideband sensor put in as well as syveccs controller maybe a low boost map for daily use then a full ***** out mental map for fun days.

cheers Ryan

I genuinely can't wait for the results, I think it's gonna give me the push to switch to a borgwarner turbo

the turbo came off my mates 2.5 forged hawk.
made 475/525 at 1.7 bar.

I will be pushing pas 2bar so see what results are he had full boost at 2500rpm all way through rev range and bare in mind this is the 7064 turbo so not a big turbo at all for the borgs and made that power.

So went for mapping today... got up nice and early to get to area 52 got up there all well..

And that's about the only thing that did go well..

Got car on dyno and do on as fan turned on we had smoke.. ended up being rocker cover gasket leaking... not a show stopper for mapping so carried on.. Engine build said straight away more than happy to sort it.. one of them things no big deal...

Then soon as car got bit of boost 1bar... Passanger side rear end started shaking on the Dyno.

Turns out rear driveshaft is knackered and had to abandon the mapping..

To say I'm gutted is a understatement. Taken a day off work. £180 bill for Dyno time and couple other bits at area 52.. half a tank of fuel and now I'm sat writing this on my 1st of 3 trains 3hour trip home.

Car is currently on trailer back to engine builder to be sorted. Rear driveshaft isn't a big deal but just another hit for me. Like a sign to call it quits and sell the lot..

No bro don't think negative not like the engines popped its just a little glitch drive shafts are just wear and tear mate atleast your not trying to find a knocking noise like I find years ago only to find the cv joint was knackered
you'll be all made up once it's done and sorted

Cheers lads...

I have calmed down alot since earlier today.

Car will be back at WMS tomorrow but with his work load be a few weeks before I'm able to get the car back but. Got a 2 week holiday to have etc so will hang in there with it.. wish I knew how to load videos on here even a small 1bar blip and it sounded awsome!...

Jase had a hawk in there with tubular front and rear ends which once car is done may have to be my next mod I think

Also handy to get a spare driveshaft. You'll get them from a breaker for not a lot, literally a 5min job to change one. Get one for peace of mind
