No need to go bigger, go stronger.
Cosworth 11mm 260,000 psi studs should do you fine and save you the cost of all of the machining work.

The stock ARP head stud set is rated to 180,000 psi, the Cosworth or ARP H11 studs are rated to 260,000 psi.
IIRC that's what Clive Madhammer uses on his drag car.

Thanks for confirming that. Was looking at these myself but was misinformed on them, may fit a set next time my engine is out.

As Martyn says they are much better but I have still seen heads lift using the Cosworth "Ultra" studs, for me its better to put the 14 mm items in and have done with it. Given its only a 2 litre it may indeed be fine.

It's all about horses for courses isn't it Bob.
In the situation the OP has at the moment, a 14mm stud conversion would mean quite a bit of work to an engine which is running just fine. If he was going to do a complete strip anyway, that's a different matter and I'd say convert to 14mm studs too.
We carry out all of the machining processes, so if you'd like a quote Andy give us a call, other than that we can also supply the Cosworth studs.

Went for RCMS extreme 11mm and Cosworth gaskets, went to pod and it all stayed together, which was nice. Got a best 60' of 1.6703s on skinny little 215s and a better flat shift setup so didn't miss a gear all day but only managed an 11.6 in the 2 decent runs I had so have lost something somewhere.
Reliable, repeatable, but not quicker. Think I will need to go rotated for a 10.

True, there may be a low 11 in there with enough runs. It's great to drive at the mo. Didn't get an email Clive can you resend? Service@enduringsolutions.com. Cheers.

This is what an 8 second car looks like from the seat of an 11 second car, lol. Actually got the drop on Simon so the LC is working well but then he finds some traction and the 1100hp kicks in.

A slightly frustrating day at the pod, the Head Gaskets let go early on so the car was down on power so managed 11.5sec @ 126mph.
Still alot of weight in the car and it obviously wasn't completely on song, but with some work I think a late 10 might be possible, still pretty good for such an inexpensive car.
Here is the video, the HG failure is obvious, the Launch Control and Flat Shift worked well:

This was my playmate for the day, a 620hp GTR. Even without using his LC he was a couple of tenths up on me, the DCT transmission keeps the acceleration seamless, amazing car.
