Progress has been slow, but got off my **** this weekend and sorted out a few bits, fitted the rear seats back in and sorted the rear CV boot clamp - just need to take it for spin and check my work. Also fitted some of the aerocatch backing plates and also made a rain cover for the extra vent
Next job is to make an Evo style louvered undertray for the vent but I need to find a louvre punch to do this

Like the additional vent... You've got me thinking now,
How does the original scoop get effected by the new one? It looks like it will send the air over the top of it?

Not sure TBH Ian, it is quite tall so I imagine it will have some effect but as I don't have a TMIC it's not critical. What would be better is to ensure any undertray I make helps draw air through the rad whereas the current solution is just to prevent the electrics getting drowned when the summer arrives

Took the car out for a spin yesterday, might have to remove the rear spacers now that I have lowered it so much, but I am very impressed by the Meister-R coilovers - I still have all my fillings despite the pot-holes
The new clip on the driveshaft boot held so all is ready for the MOT next week now too
Final job for now all in anticipation of the run to Prodrive next week...
If anyone is there next week feel free to poke around

New MOT done(after I tightened my track rod ends), I managed a total of 180 miles last year.
Also did an oil change, fitted the RCM modine kit which was a shocking job to do - ended up taking the rad off and for RCM stuff it wasn't a great fit. Then suffered with an airlock, which I've sorted (I think) but the car at least doesn't over heat anymore although the overflow is still spilling out
All cleaned ready for Prodrive tomorrow too so some pics to follow

A trouble free run up to Prodrive, although the oil temps were a little higher than I would have liked - 99 degrees on a cruise along the motorway at a steady 70 (coughs) although the outside temp was 26.
Stopped on the way back for some updated pics
I'd love a 2.1 Rob but trying to buy a house and getting out of the rental market I'd be happy with a couple of reliable years at 330-350bhp when I fit the VF34

Can you tell what it is yet...
It came ready cut for the FMIC but I've still hacked it about a little more...
But I've smoothed the number plate mount
and the towing eye cover...
Not perfect I admit but that's why I'm paying a professional to finish and paint it
New mesh on order and about to order the cold air feed duct and some red anodised bolts for the cover
Also looking for a HTA splitter if there's one going cheap...

Glad to see you finally caved in and bought yourself a Prodrive bumper - one of the best looking mods I ever did to my old bug .
Personally I think the built in lip is better left as is - a chap who bought my bug put an HT autos splitter on and I never thought it looked as clean; the guy he sold it to evidently thought the same as he took it off again. I'd wait to get it painted and fitted then see what you think - it'll look great .
You realise you'll need twisted skirts to match it now don't ya .
Love the bonnet vent too, very aggressive looking although I'd be tempted to remove the stickers for the aero catches!

Don't need twisted skirts, I'm more than happy with the ones I've got. I do like the look of the HTA splitter even on the prodrive bumpers - just need to whip the rear one off so I can get it across to the paint shop

Hey Jon, surprised you have lasted this long to get a pro drive bumper. Will look amazing when fitted. Used splitters for these bumpers are like hens teeth though, a man with your skills could modify your existing one easily

We got caught in an accident on the M40 so we ended up with our cars stuck out the back - not actually on site. I saw your's but not you. Rally Day at Castle Combe in Sept is the next big one I'm at outside of the local Uxbridge Show...

I won't be at the NBO, car is getting stripped tonight so I can get the bumpers away for painting.

I was away from my car most of the day - over near the heritage centre where the WR1s and Series McRaes were as thats where my friends were parked - I wasn't allowed to park with them as mine isn't a special edition
Shame you're not doing NBO, will catch up with you and your car at some point though
Looking forward to seeing the bumper fitted. Is Ryan painting it?

Some little jobs done today - first to refit the rear bumper after Ryan repainted it. Al the paint was cracked after someone hit me in a car park and drove off so it's looking much better now...
Then to fit the Nardi style wheel and quick release which had it's own problems - the Nardi horn button wouldn't fit with the quick-release hub
Apparently the kitchen is looking more like a garage now I've fitted a large hook to hang the wheel on
Finally, had my gear stick surround re-flocked after the stuff from Ting-Tong started peeling off and the job giz1978 did is top notch, also had my sun-visors done at the same time
Front bumper to follow as Ryan had a couple of issues with my attempt to remove the front number plate mount but that'll be back next week. I am a bit gutted that HTAutos don't make the prodrive splitter in PU as coilovers plus GRP splitter equals disaster

TBH mate, I'm looking for a splitter so it won't be seen. If I do decide to keep it I'll plasti-dip over it and Ryan painting it means it'll be a better finish to plasti-dip over. As it's an integral part of the bumper it is just as easy to paint and turn black afterwards anyway
