Oh, BTW on the bonnet front, my personal choice would be OEM bonnet, with reverse vent (chargespeed), and don't mount the oil cooler on the top...

But that is just my opinion of course...

If you can find a wrc style bonnet thats up to your standards mate then that would be the route I think you should go. the whole write up is amazing mate and your attention to detail is unbelievable. I hope we will see many more updates on this thread in the future

Well i have another crazy idea.

It would mean id have to find a very good quality vent and have it cut into a carbon bonnet. The bonnet would be semi painted like midnightstis and the vent would also be painted. It would also run my OEM scoop and graphics too.

Am i nuts?

Does anyone make a very high quality WRC vent that you would be willing to fit to a carbon bonnet Neil or is it not something you would want to undertake?

Cutting into a carbon bonnet is not so scary, although you wouldn't be able to make the vent moulded into it, it would have to be an 'addition', like the main scoop/vent..

I'm sure Darren at ABW does a WRC vent..?

Does anyone make an injection moulded vent Neil?

Or have you seen the quality of ABW's one? Any good?

Get a price for a new OEM bonnet, and work out a price for the L'aunsport one delivered to your door (Graham at japanparts) and go from there.

Price to paint an OEM one all in colour, and a carbon one is similar..unless you want the underside of the carbon one to be the same quality....

Neil, how much would it cost to have midnights one swapped from orange to blue/black mica?

Frayz

I assume you have the Ali bonnet fitted at the mo, the only real gain of c/f is a small weight loss

Seibon products/manufacture quality would be up to your standard but the only one they do Seibon Carbon Fiber Products: Hoods, Trunk Lids, Fenders, Lip Spoilers, Accessories... doent look that genuine WRC style.

Yeah i see that Mark, doesnt look like the WRC hood at all.

I think if i was gonna go down the vent route it would have to be as near to the genuine article as possible.

Wonder what mine would look like with the vent in place?

Any thoughts?

Frayz, if you're going to go part painted carbon I'd look at having the paint faded in rather than masked to a sharp line.
My S202 spoiler has this effect, black on carbon, and looks the nuts IMHO
Makes the carbon a lot more subtle and classy looking.
The only pic I have at the moment (and it's pi55ing down outside )

I'd probably have the leading edge of the bonnet painted too so that tha weave is only really apparent on the large flat areas.

Stealth carbon FTW

Frayz, there is a company that does the work on the bonnets for the WRC cars, cant remember their name but Tiny may no, they go to a few of the car shows.

I think a proper one would look well on yours although I think carbon wouldnt look better, stick with the ali bonnet

Lol, im really lost now. I love the vent, love the carbon too but dont want the weight of the carbon over my ally one.

Im leaning more towards the vent now but if i do it its gotta be perfect. Perfect size, shape and position. just like the genuine WRC article
