cnc alloy wheels
all,
i have just bought a set of oz wheels on the cheep but they need the centres machinig from the 35 mm that they currently are to the scooby offset ( well im thinking a 45mm anyway ).
my brother is a cnc type person so the actual work isnt a problem, however im just checking that it wont cause a problem to the actual alloy strength wise? im thinking that it wont as in real terms i am only changing it to what it would have been if it had come out of the factory as 45mm ~~~~ are you all following?
has anyone got any opinions or had any experience of this? there is plenty of metal and depth to play with but i need the peice of mind before i stick them on the car!
many thanks in advance, floppy

Thats all they do at the factory sometimes to get the required offset. Mate of mine bought some second hand OZ alloys for his civic that had been machined to get correct offset.
The only thing I am not certain about is stress releiving after machining, should be fine when taking a small amount off though(more of a problem with steel anyway.

i think the general opinion is that a 50mm offset is the best all rounder fro the classics, however i want it to have a real rally stance and sit out from the arches justa tiny little bit, ive had the arches rolled ready for it but am just slightly worried that tjhe actual wheels wont stand up to the pressure put on them by taking 10mm off the centre hub face?
