Silencers match up (pipe to mounts)...
Non-res centres way off though ...
Mounts line up from the back of the system (backbox to hanger mount distance)...
But the non-res is about 3.5" longer on the front (downpipe end) end
The Initial plan was cut the difference out & get it welded up using the stock centre section as a template & party on. I've since gone off that idea & have ordered a replacement (despite bank holidays looming etc).
I am assuming the dowpipe that came with this system is shorter than the stock setup, but rather than measure it I've just binned the down pipe & I have my stock centre on hand to offer up the replacement to when it arrives & then I'll fit the new non-res along with the junk yard backbox & if it's stupidly loud sort something else out or go back to the Prodrive ...

Looks "similar" to a Haywood & Scott back box. The "new" unresonated centre pipe is from a classic, about 4" longer than a Newage version.

Parcelforce apparently couldn't figure out how to ring the buzzer for my flat earlier so no centre section & therefore I haven't had a change to hear what it sounds like (whatever it is it should have more ***** that the ProDrive back box).
My intake spacers have turned up though, just waiting on the bolts now...

While I am waiting for the exhaust & the car's still on jack stands I've never liked the rusty centres of the rear discs...
So guess what
Decided while I was at it I'd pull the front wheels off too, de-grease all the arches, black up the inner plastics with tyre shine & then hit the rest with under seal...
Also hit the rims or whatever the funk that is behind the disc with hammerite too...
Luckily I wasn't bored enough to paint my wheels black, one day

The noise has certainly improved, without being offensive, a more direct comparison would have been to stick the Pro Drive back box back on.
I think I'll just get the Hayward & Scott angled Jap BackBox I want though, plus while I am all for the sleeper the pea shooter look isn't cutting it & I really needs a 4" tip (so people know I mean business)...
Anyway thanks to Parcelforce I was late for my appointment @ Subaru 4 You to get the running rich issue looked at. Len was understanding (he's probably been F'd over by Parcelforce too )...
Turns out it's running spot on & sticking it on the ramp not only reveals my excellent undercoating & gives us a chance to view the shiny new centre section in all its glory...
But reveals the gasket for the fuel pump isn't sealing properly hence why it smells of petrol
Well that was cheaper than I was expecting , my steering when turned up too so I can swap the airbags over...
Got a TX30 StarCnut so I could swap to the newer airbag...
The steering wheel's are different, mine's wider so the airbag reaches out further, this one doesn't so there's a weird 15mm gap either side
Also treating her to a front splitter as she was given a clean bill of health from Subaru 4 You last week (& mine's probably the only STI in the word that doesn't have one)
Also I've got a couple of gaskets to do this weekend: The fuel pump assembly one seal & one for the back box when I refit the ProDrive one (mainly as I am bored of driving around with the ProDrive in the boot). Plus this way I can move on the classic parts as a cat back (£50 collected Southampton )...
Fuel pump shelf thing, corroded on the underside (which I am going to scrape the corrosion flat so the seal mates properly)...
Tea Bag looks spot on, as does the inside of the fuel tank...
Broken fuel pipe filed down to remove any sharp pieces...
Connector that has the other end of the broken pipe stuck in it chopped off
New seal
And operation bodge it is complete. Jury's out on if it was the seal or the connector leaking but it's solved now (I am still only getting 200 miles from a tank still though )...
Well that got in the way, still catch cans & the splitter to go on (as well as headers when it's ready for mapping)

It looked like the underbody had stone chip on it but believe it or not it looked stone chipped.
I guess it depends how mental you want to go with it, it'll need to be dry & I guess it also depends how bad the car is. I think I spent about a week of evenings doing it with the car left on jack stands. However you may be able to do it in a day I'd have though all going well.
You're probably better off leaving it until the summer to do though, it's cold outside (I know as I've been out there all day washing & waxing the F'ing thing ).
Picked these up off eBay for what I class as a steal, Freshly powdercoated in gunmetal grey with metallic flake in & shod in winter Yokohama's too which is an added bonus...
Not sure why I waited so long to do this
Sets the Brembo's off nicely as opposed to the gold/gold clash of the old wheels & calipers...
Sets it right off & looks mean as hell , only downside is I can never park near a curb again.
I am going to have to get black side repeaters, the clear stands out too much now

I had a feeling it'd look better with the wheels on, but those arches...
So I have a set of Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs on there way to me as well as a Whiteline 22mm Rear anti-rollbar & drop links too so that should be my two biggest gripes with this car sorted.
A) Body roll
B) The gap between the front tyre & wheel arch (keeps me up at night)

Next up as I want my neighbors to think I am weird I washed my car 3 times today, a de-grease, a 2nd de-grease to remove any heavy dirt & missed followed by a shampoo, towel dry & this...
I've been meaning to wax the car since I got it & after 7 months & lots of polishing just haven't got round to it (as it's not been perfect)...
Today I decided it will never be perfect so I just waxed the whole thing today & it's really brought out a deep, deep mirror gloss in it

Whiteline 22mm adjustable rear anti-roll bar (which is really heavy) & a rear strut brace:
The strut brace has poncy pink ends but was only £30 so whatever, when my front strut brace arrives I'll get them both powdercoated black along with the anti-roll bar as word on the street is they rust quickly.
I don't recall if the drop links were ally or steel but I'll probably Hammerite them black regardless as I just can't help myself

Get the anti roll bar powder coated or spray it your self as whiteline roll bars rust after 2 months.. Great project keep up

Thanks, It's certainly getting there. I think I had the only one in the country without a splitter & just a few little mods have sweetened it up
I actually quite like the sleeper look (about as sleeper as it can be with that spoiler & scoop), currently badge-less apart from the grill & only has the decals on the doors...
So problem:
Solution :
It instantly looked low at the front after dropping it off the axle stands (like the splitter was going to hit the floor). I swear it's taller at the back though
Not overly fussed, I am sure it'll settle down with the springs bed in & then I can get an alignment done. It noticeably feels firmer & seems to roll less (however given the fact I just dropped it, also I have no idea where the camber was set & just shoved the bolts back in wherever & also just noticed one of my front drop links are broken inital impressions are good ).
Wondering is this happened when I took the strut out & dropped the hub assembly (or whatever it's called, used to motorbikes)...
