Well after talking to my wife and her telling me to stop being a fanny, I've decided to carry on with the project.
I am aiming to get it fired up by next weekend, apparently it ran fine before it was parked up so we shall see.
Found some proper fuel rail adapters and fittings for the parallel fuel mod, I would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to fuel and fire. (I once set my kitchen on fire with brake cleaner)
Manifold painted wrinkle black and gave the engine bay a tickle with the jet wash.
Can anyone help with what this probe is, looks more like a temp sender and no plug
Should I have 2 probes or one, also can only find a plug for one probe.

looks like a modified version of a exhaust temp sensor . Just blank it off if the plug is missing
* MY93-96 'phase 1' cars have the lambda in the side of the manifold, drivers side. [Which is pathetic, as it's upstream to the turbo! So should it break up (albeit unlikely) then the debris gets hoovered up the up-pipe and through the turbine housing/wheel].
Anyway, if you have the original manifold/heatshields still in place, you should see it poking proud of the heatshield. You just need to get on your hands and knees and take a peek lol
* MY97/98 'phase 1.5' and MY99/00 'phase 2' have the lambda in somewhere near the top of the downpipe, driver side. IIRC.

Thank for the info checked it and appears to have an aftermarket up pipe and bosch lambda fitted.
this has the makings of another scoobynet epic thread...I'm going to get a lot of hate for this but i don't like the dash... It looks like a really nice quality job but personally i think a glossy finish makes it look cheap and nasty..rather like shiny leather of vinyl seats...Personally i'd go over it again with a matt clear coat.
Well things are finally looking, up after being made redundant in January and the following job ended up me loosing money things are on the turn.
Impreza is now running and driving

I am going to compare the dash with an original at weekend. I always fancied the flocked dashes but think it's a bit too standard for that
