Aye, it's not cheap. Original budget for getting the car running the way I wanted was going to be about £3k. Engine along is now coming in at more than that. Trying to split my time between the car and doing overtime at work to pay for everything. Will be worth it all in the end though. Can't wait to get it up to Knockhill to test it out.

Depending on what your power goals are, you should have looked at a newage STI shortblock. They can run 450-500 bhp and can be picked up for anywhere between £700 - £1000ish . 2.1 will be great though. Are you building this primarily to use at KH?

Problem with trying to push for more power is I'd have to get a bigger turbo, bigger injectors and either a 6 speed conversion or a set of PPG gears. I'll be using the car as mostly a daily/show car with some track use. In the future I might push it more towards a track/weekend toy.

Another small update. Got the engine bay completely stripped and sanded down ready for paint. Will have it painted in the next few weeks.
Also ordered up a bunch of suspension components. Whiteline ALK, Hardrace adjustable rear lateral arms kit and Hardrace bushes for the front arm, steering rack and rear diff mounts. Plan for these is to fit them after I've undersealed the car.
Will post up some pictures when I get the car up on the ramp.

After not doing much on the car, it's suddenly turned into a busy last few days.
Picked up my engine block, heads and a few parts from Alyn at AS Performance
Got a set of 14mm Head Studs
Set of RCM Head Gaskets
Block bored out to 92.5mm and rear thrust conversion done
Heads skimmed and the valve seats cut
Set of Mahle 2618 stroker pistons
After collecting the parts from Alyn, I returned home to find several boxes that had arrived. Managed to get these parts cheap by getting in touch with a supplier I used to get parts for my Integra from. Can't beat car parts at almost cost price!
Corner is really starting to fill up with parts now.
Pile of parts that have been sanded is slowly growing aswell.
Still waiting for the ramp to be free (currently occupied by a Ford). Once it's free I can strip the old underseal, reunderseal the car and fit the new bushes and arms. Until then, I'm still working away on sanding down the car to get it ready for paint.
