Default TDR BUILT 10 SECOND TAXI

Mia's Ten Second Taxi

A little project thread of my build which is now at its first stage of the planned spec. The thread title refers to the fact the cars main use is ferrying my teenage daughter (Mia) around as the Mrs cant stand going in it and much prefers to travel in our old diesel Peugeot work horse lol. She hasnt and refuses to go in the subaru since having the new setup installed, It was previously running 481bhp and she hated it then, the performance, lairy looks, the noise and the attention it sometimes brings, so pretty much everything about it lol.

As stated above the car has now reached the first planned stage of the project with another 2 stages to come over the next 18 months or so. Ive just had the car mapped after completing the run in period on the newly built motor. The current power level is 630/600 without been pushed too hard and there will be more to come once i get used to the power level its now producing. The cars main focus is as a fun weekend road car thats track and drag strip capable with a full sq audio setup a must.

I would like to say a few thanks to some of those who have helped my along the way getting the car to where it is now.

Mark at TDR (Thwaites Developments) who built the motor, has helped me all through the build with getting the car setup and has done all my mapping on this and my previous projects with great results. I have honestly never met such a friendly, honest and genuine bunch as those at TDR. Their workmanship is also first class and Mark is very knowledgeable in all aspects of Subaru and dosnt deal in jargon or bull**** which is becoming rare in the motor trade in general lol.

Alyn at AS Performance who carried out some of the engineering work and supplied me with most of the parts of my build, he's a busy guy but always found the time to answer my many emails and calls and has offered great advice and knowledge along the way. Everything always turned up when expected and packaged carefully. Another nice and genuine guy to deal with.

Steve at SMG/Roland Alsop who prepared the block for me and went out of his way on a couple of occasions to help me out. Great knowledge and workmanship and another friendly and genuine guy to deal with.

Banny who has been a BIG help with info and helping me source things along the way, He's also a genuinely friendly nice guy too even if his mean exterior says other wise lol. Also all the other members on here and over on 22B who have answered my questions and offered help and advice along the way

I thought I read shakespeare was closing somewhere?

I am always amazed at the difference between newages and classics. With 10bhp last year (490) more I am almost dropping into the 10s (11.06) on an unprepped concrete track. So with the meth map and 40 more hp I should be there. But a newage with 640hp will struggle to get to a 10!

Yes mate there have been a few rumors over the last couple of years that it came close to closing but from what ive heard its all go again. they have a full calendar of dates up for next year on their site.

Its sound like on a good day with minor adjustments you should hit the 10's as you are as your within touching distance. Im not sure what time i could mange in its current spec although im curious to find out. With an extra 10% power and nitrous on top and removing the weight from the boot i hope to be in the 10's

Stunning

Saw this car during its run in period when I picked my alternator up, looks amazing.

Figures ended up a little higher than what I recall you saying you thought you would get ??

Im not ashamed to say that it feckin scared me on the way home after having it mapped, it was dark and the roads were damp but i was obviously curious lol. Havnt had a dry day yet to have a decent play but yes mate the torque delivery feels brutal

I was very pleasantly surprised at how good she is around town, very smooth and much nicer to drive off turbo than my last setup. The anti lag is a lot more fruity now too lol.

See you at TOTB next year

Lol, I know the feeling, I got a bit scared when I first drove my car after being done (never drive a classic before) and that was only at 400+.

Yours at 4200 ish makes just over 200hp and straight to nearly 600 at 5000rpm lol, that's sick.
Got a boost graph?
Them 9 bladers get some nice figures including spool that I've seen for a gt35.

Yes deffo mate hahaha. (I'll let you beat me )

Its the response of turbo that has impressed me the most, Andy F had previously mentioned this to me and he was spot on, there is almost no waiting time when you go back on the throttle. On my previous setup i would just time the delay in response and get on the throttle earlier but this setup is just instant, feels insane mate and just eats up the gears.

We will be on the same team buddy

I do like the reviews on them tbh. You would expect lag but that isn't really laggy at all, and good it's an on/off turbo would make it nice for tracks and sprinting etc.

It dosnt feel laggy at all mate, on the road it spools earlier and sees 1.3bar at 4k and max boost soon after.
