Been a bit quiet happily spending just not posting!!
So a few items have been ordered big thanks to Mike and Matt @ RCM
My clutch Exedy triple plate hyper
I am not going down the route of Dual avc's cams I'm going on single
So I have purchased brand new V8 JDM big ports from RCM
Now Paul Finch who is building the engine has had these worked for me.
Not only for chamber size but full porting to maximise my package
Taking care of the exhaust side are these beautiful RCM billet titanium vernier pulleys
So a few items have been ordered big thanks to Mike and Matt @ RCM

So After a hard brake! I had a very strange noise for 5-10 seconds!
Genuinely thought part of the standard friction material had unattached and got caught!
So perfect opportunity to get my Performance Friction Z pads fitted all around
I have no idea what the noise was as pads were original Brembos and perfectly intact with zero over heating signs
Anyway PF pads fitted no running instructions included found some online
5x 50-30 low pedal pressure
5x 70-40 medium pedal pressure
3x 100-30 hard but not locking or abs cutting in!
Then 5 mile very little braking drive
So went to my local race track! I also did an extra 75 mile "usual driving"
What can I say WOW! They are immense! Cold bit is phenomenal as everyone says then they get a bit of heat and they wanna flat spot your tyres!!! Seriously I did a hard break in the three digits! I locked my wheels these are the mutts nuts! On the fence dont be. Get them ordered

Very cool reading all the money you are putting into this! I've just got my hands on a 2013 STI saloon and looking for inspiration. How much did the rear spoiler cost you? I was thinking of gett My the Carbon Seibon version.

The total was just under 1400 plus painting. Think spoiler kit was just under 1000
I have my old boot with little spoiler here if you was interested in that depends if you want subtle or big. But nothing in my opinion looks ****. I guess that's why they only sold 260 odd.
Yeah got a bit carried away spending. But why have money in a savings when I can have an epic saloon! It's what floats your boat at the end of the day

So date has been put in the diary for new ecu
Syvecs S6+ reason being extra channels and cruise control!
Why syvecs bang for buck it is very clear this is the best ecu on the market. It's more for safety features it has and what It can do.
Friday the 12th Kev and SC and pat will get to work the magic.
Power wise TBH at present it means nothing to me I have needed to change the ECU due to my new engine being built! New Heads.
More on that when Mr Finch is ready to tell me (no I do know but what's a story without pictures!)
But only job left before ecu is
Swap fuel pressure gauge from mechanical to sensor for ECU to monitor
And put the new oil pressure and temp in engine
I'm going to use the front bung on front of engine. More on that when I do, I will need to modify the Pas mounting bracket but haven't decided on best way to reinforce if needed!!

One from My Caravan at the weekend, what's amazing it was the second time I've checked the oil!! I haven't driven hard purely its still on **** 340 map and I've swapped exhaust and intake.
But I've driven it 2500 miles since owning and it's not used a single drop of oil!! For the Amazing Ej257 this must be a miracle!!

Your car is lovely mate. Do you have the part numbers and costs for that spoiler kit? I've had a low level spoiler, brand new, sat in a box for over a year now as I just can't decide whether I want that or the high one!

Every time I go and check, thinking it must need topping up by now, it's always in the 'green'.
Just wish Subaru offered something with 30mpg, 0-60 in 6.5, in saloon that won't go bang and is under 10 years old. If only they had invested in some R&D...

Going bang well yeah no defence unless it's never gonna see boost or proper use age of right pedal!
But if I was staying 2.5 I'd get pegged at paul Finches rods pistons quality bearings cosworth head studs RCM gaskets 460 470 with ample torque would make an epic road car and fun on track. For the little cost of that around 4K with clutch tgv deletes etc apart of me feels I should have gone that route!
Heyho monster engine here we come.

Apologies for the thread hijack OP! On a more on topic note, what did the Cusco brake stopper set you back? I'd like one myself. Only thing I've seen when looking for similar is the Perrin item. Seems pricey compared to the Tegiwa one I bought for my Blob!

Thanks Don. Are the torsion bars to assist with the wight of the spoiler or to prevent flex when on the move? I ask because I've considered the Seibon carbon spoiler instead of shelling out that sort of money for the OEM. But I've no idea whether the torsion bars are still needed with that.

Springs are to assist with extra weight. I have not fitted mine as it opens and closes nicely without.
No our cars (if yours is uk) has tgv's it's a worthy mod free power and response but needs mapping out. I have another set of IAG ones for sale I will give the air pump delete plates if you buy them. Although I can't give plates till new engine goes in a couple of months I'd imagine

Inserted the oil temp pressure sensor today! 1 more job till actually she is ready for ecu and safety features

All the way home<br/><br/>I used the Killer B 1/8npt adaptor bung
I tried to just remove the web from Pas pump Bracket
And it ended up with fully being removed. <br/><br/>The sensor literally protrudes 1mm so when I have the Boost pipes redone I will get this strengthened.<br/>Doubt It will have any effect by not being there but they did put it there so I'll get something made to accommodate the sensor
And the finished product (minus belt)

Some may ask why I used this bung in the gallery.
I could say I wanna be different or I'm a genius.....
But no.
I was told I can move pressure sensor or get rid of I like and put in. But there is a possibility it can get an air lock in the sensor or trapped air which can alter the information.
The rear ward bung by #3 same also possibility of less accurate temp.
So this bung has the accuracy of position plus very very slim chance of air lock being side ways!
Thank you Pat for the information.
Some may argue sump is best place for the mean of oil temp. I do agree but the sumps low enough, I intend to go on track If I hit the sump or the sensor I have a slightly higher chance of loosing the oil.
My new engine Has a killer B setup going on so if I'm not happy before engine goes in I will just drill and tap for new sensor!
But Genuinely getting Excited Now. I haven't driven My car in Anger ATALL!
Being 340 so a dog **** map plus I started putting Items on as soon as I got it! The 2.5 was crap before it left the show room let alone when something has been done to her!

And a lovely set of
NGK ILFR7H plugs (sorry no pics) I was hacked off after #4 so could not be jollied....
She runs like a dream and to confirm in 3200 miles ish I retrieved 4.4 litres of oil. It was serviced just before I purchased. So she isn't using any oil!! Engine should be fine till the new one is done now!

I am Very Very excited now.
I purchased the car beginning of November, it had the useless 340 pack on so was hesitant to push
I started doing Bits so then I couldn't push
Then due to engine spec I decided on, I needed the Ecu so wasn't prepared to pay £650 on a map for a few months!
The next few days I hope will reward me in my patience my ability to look after her regardless of engine coming out. This car deserves looking after being treated nicely.
Expectations Genuinely The number means nothing to me at present. I have an engine being built that will take whatever I throw at it! This ecu now is Just there for the other engine. I want a nice safe map, one I can finally use the loud pedal in anger with!

Very excited to see how it performs! You're going to have to take me out in it once all completed! It will inspire me to transform my engine. My old man has just upgraded his 997 Carrera to a GTR so it's a bit boring driving the Subaru.

What I will have is something unique and hopefully amazing. It was a dream car dream spec becoming reality.
If everything goes to plan there is a track day Monday 22nd (I believe) at Bedford. Providing everything goes swimmingly the Ill be there so pop along
If anyone fancies it come Scoobynet take over!! Knowing my luck I'll get an amazing Map and the car will be to flipping noises!

The clutch is less aggressive than a paddle clutch. RCM offered me a go in their spec C with the same clutch, Olly assured me it drives very well. I will report Back
