LSherratt 09 March 2014 02:47 PM

I did it out of curiosity and had a few emails but then I unsubscribed and haven't had anything since.

stevebt 09 March 2014 02:58 PM

I have put car details in when I was looking to buy one and have never had any further emails from them.

Scoobydoo Ste 09 March 2014 02:59 PM

So when they email you the price you don't get it, really good ;)

ALi-B 09 March 2014 05:35 PM

Just use 10minutemail for your email: http://10minutemail.com

And use the postcode/address of your local Tesco :D

mamoon2 09 March 2014 05:44 PM

Quite easy to unsubscribe. They don't spam you.

The price gets displayed on the screen at the end of the process so no need to get an email - just so you know for next time :thumb:

pslewis 09 March 2014 10:03 PM

They came round my house to collect the car!!

They said I had agreed to sell by using the site and leaving my e-mail address .... they get your address from a triangulation of your ISP details, e-mail and mobile phone location ........ so they took my car away, they paid me 75% of their on screen offer as I didn't tell them it didn't have a full tank of fuel.

RobsyUK 09 March 2014 10:06 PM

they wouldnt take my car as it had had 10 owners?

pslewis 09 March 2014 10:20 PM

That's because 9 of them had nicked it :D

Matteeboy 09 March 2014 10:29 PM

They offered a better price than my dealer for the 335d but the timings made a straight px easier.

There's some cowboys out there but I reckon this is a pretty genuine outfit.

They don't do that, you must bring the car to them for an official valuation.

Genuine - not so sure about that.

For a more genuine valuation, try a CAP valuation.

mamoon2 11 March 2014 03:16 PM

What you all need to know is that WBAC are owned by British Car Auctions. So you will get lower than the CAP price as they sell all the stock at their own auctions for CAP price.

CREWJ 12 March 2014 09:31 PM

They offered £275 for my car :lol1:

salsa-king 12 March 2014 09:49 PM

I sold my Smart 4/2 to them the other year, online they offer a few hundress less than I'd of wanted if I sold private.

so thought I'd go down, they knocked another £108 off for a few scratches and a rattle on 'something'

came away with £1052 :) well happy, as I could have had more hassle trying to sell private.. (advertising.. ppl haggling.. desperate to sell you'd end up taking a less price).

so I sold to them about 400 less than I wanted.. but in the long run, I did ok out of it. i'd had the car 8years and paid £5200 when i bought it.

hodgy0_2 12 March 2014 10:06 PM

yep - it is not a bad business model

capitalising on the twin traits of ignorance and lazyness

salsa-king 12 March 2014 11:17 PM

ignorance in what way?

hodgy0_2 12 March 2014 11:27 PM

In what the value of their car is, and what It takes to realise that value

salsa-king 13 March 2014 10:15 PM

how do they do it then?

hodgy0_2 13 March 2014 10:20 PM

Do what

Type a reg number into website, click next next next, yes, accept

Then take the car to a place where you get 20% less than if you spent the time and effort selling privately

CREWJ 14 March 2014 04:14 PM

Considering mine must be worth at least £1100 then that's a 75% drop in price

Tidgy 14 March 2014 04:33 PM

lol, weripyouoff.com, sorry webuyanycar.com is crap mate.

Jamo 16 March 2014 09:29 PM

The brothers that own this, just send the cars to auction knowing they will make a profit on 75% of the cars they sell. They knock money off the offered price 99% of the time as they get the rulers out and measure all dints and scratches..

fatscoobfella1 17 March 2014 09:36 PM

I put details of my mates 2009 M3 coupe into WBAC site... It is Cat D repaired and they offered £9600 for it..

I would buy 3 at that price..
