anti squeal shims & ferodo pads
 

I am fitting new ferodo pads which have anti vibration pads glued to the back. Am I correct in assuming i dont need to fit the existing anti squeal shims with these. thanks

You don't need to fit shims full stop.

The top and bottom stainless guides held in with torq screws are a poor design. These had swelled up (the ally underneath them) on both back pads making the back pads virtually solid. The screws look a nightmare to get out with a risk of snapping them.
In the end I filed the new pads down a touch.
