my 98 v4 sti only running 0.7 bar any ideas
Hi I've just fitted a boost gauge on my 98 sti as it doesn't seem as quick as it should be and it's only running 0.7 bar im sure it should be around 1.0-1.1 Bar. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

check for leaks . does it seem like its holding back
|
Not really seems to drive fine. just doesn't seem as quick as it should so put a gauge on and it's holding at 0.7
|
Maybe the spring in the actuator has gone see if you can borrow one
|
It is set to 0.9 and will tail off to 0.7ish when flat out..
Will only be a bar or above if mapped for it or boost controller fitted... Sounds spot on to me as its not dropping boost.. |
spoke to zen today and the sti should be around 1.0 bar, the standard wrx and uk is around 0.7 bar so im down a fair bit on boost

What does it hit when flooring it it 3rd and 4th....? Boost will run out the higher the revs get,, so have a blast and see :thumb: |
been for a blast only reaches 0.7 max no higher

All your pipes on right way...?
Has it always ran well..? As its not far off standard .2 of a bar is not much mate.... You could just fit boost con if you want more power.. But best just to get it mapped and raise boost that way..... Don't be to worried as it runs sweet and it works .... :) |
Yes checked the pipes they are on right way, spoke to Scooby Clinic. going to go for a diagnostic rolling road run hopefully find out the issue
|
Let us know outcome mate ;)
|
Scooby Clinic also said due to it having a recon bottom end fitted the compression ratio maybe slightly different, only way to sort it is with a map. Maybe remap time soon :-)
|
Update, all fixed and boosting harder than ever, it was the split turbo intake house where it jubilees to the turbo causing unmeasured air to go in the engine putting the ecu in low boost.
|
Glad you got it sorted,,,, bet it cost loads to find..
