im sure someone on here can help with this question
My best mate bought a vivaro van 10 days ago for £9,000 but it had a fault with the electronic dash and the company offered to buy and suppy the part with the sale. He has been today to have it fitted but it came back with an extra 3,000 miles on the clock.
He complained hes only had it 10 days and it was impossible to do 3,000 miles ( he also bought a 13 plate corsa 2 days later form the same company) They said they fully understand he might not have done 3,000 miles in 10 days but they had to calculate the miles and now they say it cant be altered. Surely they cannot just guess the miles and put what they feel.
He will ring them in the morning but needed a bit of advice as to where he stands legally.
The other thing is he thinks they have put the wrong clock in anyway as there is no clock for the time showing, but there was before even though it flashed on and off.

I always thought you could adjust digital mile displays with the correct software but I'm not sure if it was made illegal due to clocking cars etc, used to be advertised in autotrader etc under digital mileage correction etc.

Surely the company must be able to put the mileage back to what it nearly was when he bought it from them.
Like he said 3,000 miles in 10 days isnt right. He has a 10,000 mile a year insurance policy and like he said hes only 7,000 left for 11 months and 2 week!!
They knew he wasnt using the van as he also bought the new corsa 2 days later.
