Issue with a Scooby breakers
Hi,
I recently bought a full interior and some other parts off a Subaru breaker that advertised on eBay. I ended up buying out of eBay as I wanted many items that were not listed. I paid via Paypal gift so they would not get charged a fee after negotiating what I thought was a good deal. There was to be seats, door cards, console parts and door and boot seals. When they arrived it was found that the drivers seat was suffering the same damage as the original seat I was replacing where the sliding mount had sheared from its location. This sort of rendered the seat usless and was the main reason I bought a full interior in the first place so it would all match. I sent photos to the supplier who said he would look into it but dispite a number of messages and e-mails to follow it up has never got back to me with an explanation as to why they advertised and sold me a seat with sheared mounts. Also other parts I had ordered and paid for did not arrive. I was promised these would be posted out ASAP and again despite a number of reminders and messages this never happened and now I am getting no response at all to messages. The door cards were also bent as if they had just been pulled off from a corner and all the clips broken. I wanted to give them a chance as I would like to get a refund of some sort to be able to fix the seat and get the parts I have already paid for but I feel it may be time to name and shame. They are not a good breaker, lie about the condition of the parts, do not dismantle carefully so I would like to warn others not to buy from them. |

Are they a new company by any chance?

Why did you not pay the fees to cover yourself???
|
Paypal gift - only way to resolve this now is the small claims court as you have no comeback through Paypal:brickwall
|
What name are they trading under?
|
They have been trading since 2007 on eBay and have a feedback score of 500.
Thought they would have been reputable enough but wish I hadn't paid with a gift now. Lol. Saved a lot of money doing it that way after negotiating a discount for out of eBay and combined postage but in hindsight.... |
Post their details on here and we might be able to help you find out some info on them ie a name and address, plenty of scammers have been caught out with the help of the Snet community.
|
Unfortunately the fee is an insurance policy against this type of thing. All you can do is go to small claims court with it.
Finding out who they are trading as would be helpful to stop other people getting stung. |
I always add on the 4% if a seller asks me to pay as gift via paypal because I know it'll cover me should I need it.
Why people still pay by gift is beyond me because it seems to be used for just that very purpose and your goods are either f*cked or don't arrive :nono: |
iv got a massive diamond here, only want £500 for it. does anybody wanna paypal gift me? yeh sweet deal
|
Just name them ffs !!

eBay, a daylight robber's dream
|
Name them, so others don't use them.
I've got a feeling I know who it might be anyway. |

Paying by gift to an "approved breaker" offers no protection to the buyer at all. Even not using gift still doesn't help. I'd rather use eBay tbh. |
This thread is pointless without naming the company. Name them so others don't use them
|
Ok I gave them a chance and asked them to get back to me regarding the missing parts and to discuss the faulty seat and gave them 48 hours to reply. They never got back to me so now I have had to accept I wont get the parts and they aren't interested in resolving the seat issue. Now I can name and shame.

Only a mobile number and a yahoo email address.... Seems legit...
|
So are you glad you paid by gift to "save" that extra bit of money???
Scammers exist because buyers are stupid. |
you could pay him a visit - he is hiding just here:

I can see why some people will pay by gift if the item is costing alot of money as the fees can soon add up, but on the other hand the more something is worth the more you would be better having comeback on.
Unfortuantely paypal have you by the balls with the fees. Personally I only buy parts off reputable members on here as they are alot more honest and have too much to loose by dicking a fellow scoobynet member. |
Exactly who I thought it would be
|
Have others had issues with the same seller then?
I assumed as it was an eBay item they wouldn't have listed it if it was faulty. Shame that being trustworthy makes me the person in the wrong. Never have I had any trouble with any other parts on cars, bikes or anything else but it appears Impreza breakers sometimes may carry the same stereotype as their drivers! |

No he stopped replying to me and just fobbed me off. As it happens I sold the car to a friend who is friends with an MOT tester so managed to get through its MOT so I imagine its still got a dodgy seat. In fact after my friend sold the car it ended up on eBay for twice as much as he sold it for only a few days later! Beware as there is some dodgy people out there!
