OUTSIDE TEMP GAUGE /DIGI READS 30C.???

Good evening all...on returning home tonight , glanced at the Temp next to the clock ...and was shocked to see 30 c !! Have I inadvertantly been transported to The Carribbean or is this a common fault with WRX S 2010 .??? I presume there may be a faulty Temperature Reader, which I think is located on the Front radiator..!! Can anybody shed any light on this strange phenomenon...is there likely to be any damage occurring to the rest of the engine .?..I wasnt aware that the sensor was connected to the ECU...all other gauges fine ..Temp in Speedo midway as normal...oil ok....All fluids at correct level.. Can anybody help/..?? Thanking you in advance..:wonder:

Thanks Beastie, I took it in today to local Subaru and they said they would replace sensor , although they couldn't guarantee whether it would fix the problem,,,its not affecting anything else though, as they plugged the car in and its reading fine..thanks again..:)

I started looking because my temp reading about 2 degrees high. I asked the Subaru dealer to look at it and they said mine was the same temp as the other cars in the showroom. Seems water freezes at 2 degrees now
They don't seem to realise I rely upon it to give me an indication of possible ice on the road.

Well mine reads 26 to 30 !!!! It was 12 today in Sunny Greater Manchester.!!! It resets itself ..goes down to 10 ish and then steadily climbs..until stopping ...to be honest ..there must be better places to put it than near to a hot working engine...ah well who am I but a mere Purchaser...good luck,.,,:)

Hi Keddlestone , did you check the temperature erratic reading...mines up to 40 C .!!!! cant get it in for them to change sensor for a week though, so just a bit concerned that my car is going to spontaneously combust.!!!!:wonder:
