I'm going to order a GPS system today - the Garmin StreetPilot III. So where's the cheapest place to buy it from?

Prices so far:

£702 from www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk
£715 from www.expansys.com
£705 from www.exportech.co.uk

Where else should I look?

Also, I see that I could pick one up for $750 or so from the US.
Obviously that's significantly cheaper (since it works out at about 500 quid). However, is there likely to be a problem using it over here? Obviously I'll need to buy the UK map, but I figure if I'm saving 150 quid I can do that and still come out cheaper than if I buy in the UK.

The problem about buying something in the US & bringing it over is that as soon as it gets to customs - +VAT

Also, depending on what it is, there may be other taxes levied  :(

I'll be buying it through my company, so VAT is irrelevant. I fancy connecting it up to my PC and investigating developing some GPS programming. ;)

As for the import duty, there's a fair chance it'll qualify as a PC Peripheral, so will be exempt from duty. Regardless of that, I'll be getting a mate to bring it over, so they can remove the packaging and shove it in their hand-luggage, so removing the problem altogether. :D
