blob big end gone

hi. only had my blob 03 wrx turbo for 6 wks and have just been told the bottom end has gone. Could someone tell me if a 2001 bug wrx turbo engine without inlet manifold and turbo will fit my car with just swapping over my manifold and turbo. thanks... p.s. wanted wrx turbo engine

yes it will, but there are other better options, also you need to find out why it let go, because if you don't it could knacker the replacement engine.

Look in the for sale section some good engines in there at the minute from Motors GT.

+1

or a used sti8 engine will be miles better than a wrx engine and capable of 450bhp if thats your thing

thanks for reply. had the oil and filter replaced two weeks ago, hope they used the correct filter and oil (national tyre services) also gave the blob a good thrashing on sunday and started making a noise after that. couple of second hand engines on ebay at the moment im interested in.

Lol national tyre services.....some people don't help themselves.
Now a second hand eBay engine. What could possibly go wrong there??

Honestly mate unless it's from someone on here with a good reputation I would avoid second hand and Ebay is a big NO, last thing you want to be doing is buying another one a few weeks down the line especially if your not fitting it yourself, which I guess is the case if your not even changing the oil yourself.

You need a specialist subaru garage as even getting the oil change procedure wrong can result in a blown engine, if you don't pre fill the filter and start it up without building oil pressure by turning it over with the crank sensor disconnected it's bye bye big ends.;)
