My latest Classic Ford

Hi guy's,been away for a while so thought I would come & say 'hello'.For those that don't already know I'm a ex Scooby owner who has returned to Ford's ( Classic's ).I have a 1982 Mk 1 Fiesta show car, also had a 1989 Mk 4 Escort for a few months.Sold the Escort in May 2013 & found a 1985 'B' plate Mk 2 Fiesta 1.3 Ghia-1 lady owner from new with 3,920 miles. Now I did think to leave it standard but as I wanted the best of both I have slightly modified it.
Anyway here are a few pics :)

How I got it

Pics of the MK1 please :D

Thats a very tidy late B reg Fiesta :thumb:

I sold my Scoob and bought a couple of MK2 Fiestas to do up. Gave up as I missed my Scoob - sold them on and bought another Scoob :D

If you ever break the switch holder on the dash I have a spare mint grey one ;) Needs an XR2 engine. Nice little sleeper :D

Wow talk about in a timewarp! Mint car :thumb:

I've had 20+ MK1 and 2s over the years!!

I do love your mk1. You will have to bring the mk2 to one of the pub meets once the weather gets better mate :thumb:

My first car was a burgundy coloured MkII B-reg Fiesta 1.1 Pop+.

Had some good laughs in that, and some near misses! :nono:

:D :lol1:

I used to love MK2 fiesta XR2's had 3 of them, cracking little cars, one of my cousins has been a ford mechanic for about 40yrs used to let him have mine for the weekend and he'd make them run and drive as sweet as a nut for peanuts, used to surprise a lot of people with them back in the day. :norty:

Reminds me of the dick we had on here years ago who said he always folded his rear seats flat to lower the centre of gravity. :D

Lovely cars mate, nice to see them unmolested and as they were intended.

My first car was a Bright Yellow Fiesta 957cc on a T plate (believe it was CNM 552T) ..... Think I paid £50 for it back then with MOT and Tax of around 3 months.......

Fuel was a lot lot cheaper as well :D

You're not wrong, I remember paying 45-49p/litre when I got my first car. There was outrage when it hit the 50p/litre mark :lol1: Look at it now. :(

Nate 01 March 2014 12:37 PM

Lol.... And then there was the sudden jump of around 30p/litre a couple of years ago within the space of a month or so

I had a mk1 the same as that when I was 17 but mine was hand painted:eek:
And it still managed to get stolen:cry:

First car was a black mkI XR2 DEV 212X...spun it through a brick wall on Parkway September 91 and killed it. Still have guilt pangs :(

:nono::nono::nono::nono:

I had a red MK1 XR, A158 XWA, swapped it for an E reg MK2 :cry: the new owner put it in a ditch and abandoned it :cuckoo: I got contacted by the police as it was still in my name (in the days when the new owner was trusted to send off the V5!!) Fortunately I had the new owners details otherwise it could have got messy!!

Not as yet, seen loads of forum posts on it though :Suspiciou. Will try and find it on catch up!!
MK1 and 2 are definitely different cars! Its like comparing a newage to a classic. The same but different :freak3::freak3:
My MK1 had the 5 speed fitted with a custom made tie rod and home made strengthening kit similar to what the Fiesta Centre eventually started selling!! ;)
I had a 5 speed fitted to a MK1 1.1 back in '94 too :smug:

I liked both (for different reasons) but looking at values I wish I'd hung onto the MK1 now

I was considering CVH engine and box swap...but then killed it, one of my friends bought it off me for £300 and reshelled it into his 1300 Super Sport...it lived on :D

Least it lived, sort of!! :thumb:

I also built a hybrid Sierra based 1.8 CVH that went into Mk1 L shell, that went well :D
