prosport wires diagram

hi chaps , just fitted or test fitted the boost gauge stepper type, it works it beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeped at me ! good and loud, then started flashing light a light house, that is as far as I got at that point so then I connected the boost sensor to back of manifold t piece, started up to see what reading I got and needle just moves 10mm up and down by its self? so reconnected my other gauge , needle sat perfectly......... so looking at wire diagram colour code etc I notice the red and white goes into plug differently than the leaflet shows? could this be the problem causing it to malfunction?

actual wire to plug that goes in clock white red black with insert lock facing u , the leaflet shows black white red, different to actual required .

other end that plugs in boost sensor, black white red with locking tab facing upward. so when u hold the connectors together side by side u can see the white and red are not in correct order, but swapped or soldered by mistake.

 going to try send it back or ask for another boost sensor loom.

You won't see it move on the drive. Take it out and give it some boost. THEN come back and tell us what happens.

When red wire is connected does this really hav to be connected to a permanent live for say test purposes would connecting to a acc live cause problem with boost reading ? The thing flashes continually after start up show, seems real unstable.

Yes it needs permanent live.

Ensure the little plug in the rear is well pushed in, use a small screwdriver to push it until it clicks.

thank u alcazar, must admit the plugs not very strong its in all way but with slight wobble, but mab some glue or sealant might hold it steady. will try running wire of harzard fuse for permanent, and acc the cig lighter.

Did a live from the hazard switch cure the problem? I read somewhere that the permanent live power should be interrupted when cranking the engine.
Apparently some cars cut the power to auxiliary circuits while being cranked? :wonder:
