Front Pad Suggestions

Hi,

I need a new set of front pads for the weekend. I currently have 4 month old CL RC5+ pads fitted which have failed, the left front has fallen to pieces and thrown **** all over the alloy and pasted the disc with crap.

I've had Godspeed Kevlar Pads which were no good, the CL RC5+ pads were great up until they fell to pieces. I'd like a similar type pad, but something that actually stays together!!

Any suggestions? Car is an '03 WRX PPP Wagon.

Cheers,

PERFOMANCE FRICTION Z RATED PADS or one of there other compounds 08 etc...or PAGID RS15/RST3,because by the sounds of it your quite hard/heavy on the brakes so one of these compounds should do you well, speak to Alyn of ASPERFORMANCE or Ian at Godspeed for competitive prices.SJ.

I couldn't find PFZ pads or Pagid RS's in WRX 4 pot fitment.

So I've ordered a set of Hawk Performance HP+ pads, not sure they'll be that well known on here but they've had great reviews so I'm going to give them a try.

They don't make PF Z rated pads for the WRX subaru 4 pots , only for the Brembo's.

I'm surprised you have had issues with the CL pads , first time I have heard of them falling apart , are you sure the pistons are all free , and not a sticky one that has overheated the pads ?

The calipers have got 8x stainless pistons and new seals I bought from you so I would hope not ;)

If you google it, it's not an uncommon problem, quite a few people have had similar problems. They were great up until they broke up.

Calipers will be fine then :D
We have sold loads of these pads and its the first I have heard of it , ours are still going strong in our track day car and that has a real hiding

It's only one side that let go, I think I was just unlucky maybe.

I should be getting a refund on them as they've not been on the car long, the retailer I bought them from has been quick to respond and helpful. I just need to get some pics of the damage etc over to them when the pads come out.

Perhaps you have gone over the temp range of them , how hard was the car being used ? ask them to send you RC6 instead and see if they are more suitable for you , but these are hard on discs and you need to clean the wheels and car more otherwise they can make a mess !

AS Performance 19 February 2014 05:37 PM

we carry other PFC options in stock for the 4pot caliper

I've already got some pads, Hawk performance HP Plus.

Pads are in and working well. The dust seals are burnt though! They'll only get burnt again if I replace them so they can stay that way for now.
