Gauge not lighting up

Hi

Since having my classic turbo the boost gauge never seemed to light up. Its working fine etc and the oil gauge next to it works fine and lights up. Question i have is will it be a blown bulb if so can they be replaced or a entire new gauge.

If i do end up buying a new gauge can i use the existing wiring and vacuum pipe. Not very techincally mind, so any help would be appreciated

thank you

Could be as simple as a poor wiring connection. Do you have a wiring tester or multimeter?

unfortunately i dont have one. behind the gauge i can see 2 black wires and also a clear pipe, would one of the black cables be the lighting

Probably both...lighting and return.

Can you see where they run to? Do you know anyone with a multimeter?

Or buy one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-CIRCUI...item5d414c412e to check if one is live.

the gauge is in the centre comparture of the dash, where they ment to be a lid for storage above the vents. Is there a way to remove the compartment?
