Legacy 2.5 1999 3rd gen engine died

Hi Guys,
I need some advice.
During recent floods in Surrey I have been through some serious water. The engine never missed a beat but I did pick up some water in the footwells. After clearing the floods I was on a dry road and hit a very small amount of surface water at about 50 mph and the engine just died. No smoke, noise or anything. I have checked the fuel pump and it works with a fly wire. Checked for spark by ignition lead to earth and no spark. It is possible that a little water may have run forward and hit the ECM but I took the cover off and no water visible. Starter spins engine normally.
Any idea what I should do next? Can't justify much expense as it is an old banger and not worth a lot.

mate i,d be very surprised if subaru moved the ecu on the legacy from the passenger footwell (thats where it is on an impreza) so its likely that the ecu has got waterlogged ,lift passenger footwell carpet undo 10mm bolts and cover plate and check ecu and plugs for water ingress.

Thanks for reply, i did say " It is possible that a little water may have run forward and hit the ECM but I took the cover off and no water visible." so yes you are correct the ECU is in the passenger footwell but was no sign of water when I inspected it. It may have briefly got splashed but never any more than that.
