Calipers going off for rebuild bit of advice plz

Hi guys.
I'm having my front 4 pot calipers removed this weekend ready to send to Godspeed to have them rebuilt next week.
Now my question is what is best to do with the brake lines and fluid in them while I wait for calipers to get back to me.
Should I drain the fluid straight away and refill with a good dot 5.1 just before I go to fit the calipers or should I some how clamp the line to avoid draining now and if so how would I do this, bear in mind the car will be on standstill approx a week.

Not a mechanic I'm learning as I go so any advice that can help is much appreciated.

If you have the standard rubber hoses you can clamp them , if you have braided hoses clamping them will cause damage , we have blanks here I have made to block the ends of braided hoses
If its easier for you we also offer them on an exchange basis , you can collect calipers ready to fit , swap them with yours and brings yours back , easy to do as I notice your only in Cardiff

Cheers Ian

Hi Ian

Yes I rang the other day can't remember the guy I spoke to, I'm going to ring you ,pay and send a picture of the colour I want ,then you will rebuild a set you already have in stock and when I collect them I will bring my calipers on an exchange basis I was quoted £235 for that .
What should I clamp them with and yes they are rubber hoses

Cheers Ian

The reason whyi am taking them off this weekend as apposed to the day i collect my new ones is bacause im going to check them over to see they are suitible forthe exchange and im fitting new wishbones so rather do it all in one go while the wheels are off and car is in the air.

Intresting you said you exchange them.
Its a job (of many) on my to do list and have been on your site looking at the new 4 pots kits (wrx pro) calipers/discs & orange pads, could i buy this kit and get an exchange on my old 4 pots?

Cheers Mart.

Hi
No sorry the WRX kit is an outright purchase , we only offer an exchange when supplying the reconditioned genuine subaru 4 pots
Cheers Ian

Ok, cheers
Its still a good deal anyway as an outright buy.

Will be in touch when ready to start my brakes.

Hi Ian.

I'm going to be collecting my calipers from you tomorrow or saturday however I forgot I am missing one anti rattle plate that seperates the break pads

And also missing one caliper retaining spring but not as important as the above,

Is their any chance you have a spare anti rattle plate in stock as I don't really want to buy the whole kit if i can get away with just giving a few quid for one

Finally I have removed everything from the calipers I am swapping with you except the bleed nipples,do I need to take them out as well or leave them in if I have them coming on the new calipers

Cheers rhys
